4 plants under a 250 sodium lamp, the tallest plants seem to have many yellow leaves as opposed t the shorter bushier plants which do not. but the buds look sweet on all the plants still so i havent been worrying about it, but should i? this is an all organic grow so we havent been doing anything but watering them for the past month, nothing else. is this normal or should i do something?
Are they able to get much light or are they covered? My leaves are starting to turn yellow at the edges, I know I need more Mg and P but, I'm contemplating on just cutting them since they're not aiding in production and more just taking up nutrients to stay alive... But I think a little yellow isn't so bad since the plant is focusing on producing the top... Check this out... may help a bit, sorry couldn't be more of a help... http://www.1stmarijuanagrowerspage.com/how-to-grow-marijuana.html#c9-4
Bman, you stopped feeding too soon, 2 weeks before harvest is plenty!>) Yellow, is either hunger or end time, hunger has a greenish tint;>) end time yellow has a reddish tint.>\ PC, yellow at the edges could mean over feeding, if a dark reddish brown follows the yellow toward the middle:>) Here's a miss conception "contemplating on just cutting them since they're not aiding in production and more just taking up nutrients to stay alive..." Fan leaves are food factories; What nature hath provided, let no human snip asunder! IMO the only fans that need to removed are the cross growing leaves, the ones growing toward their neighbors, these may be judiciously removed to let light down into the center of the plant:>P Just remember, the limb that depended on the fan leaf for food will slow down dramtically, usually leaving gaps in the final product.>)
So cutting during budding, slows the budding? I thought it would help concentrate the growth... Learn sumthin new everyday!!!!
so if they are hungry...what should i feed them? this is my first grow. we have used nothing but water as of this point to grow these plants no products.
umm its probably not the best idea but most of them have been in miracle grow potting soil most of their lives one or two is in some potting soil e got from a plant store. p.s. should you still spray the leaves during the budding stage?
The MG is probly out of ferts at this point then!>) They like a little shower once in a while just like in real life, are you adding anything to the water for spraying?>)
I recomend Fox Farm nutes, 'cause I like organic. you're local garden shop should have racks full of nutes. what ever you bring home start slowly, don't add full strength right away.
Yes! sorry, My trian of thought runs off the track some times and takes hours n bowls to get it back!!!!! If you choose FF it's a 2 part nute; Big Bloom (worm casings n bat guano), and Tiger Bloom (bloom fert.) There R many different brands, if ya choose another maker make sure how many parts you'll need for a complete diet. FF also has additives to go with the liquids, but they can cause nute burn quick so, IMO wait till ya see how the liqs. work before adding extras!>)
BB should have a chart on the bottle or check the MF's website. Try to keep the mix to about ~700 - 900 ppm. For example GH Flora Nova was 2 tsp per gallon (if I remember). Usually, you can alternate nutes with the watering for big girls in flowering (and in soil). Just don't over fertilize them. If you have been feeding on a regular basis follow the HairyOne's advice and allow for at least two weeks of pure water prior to harvest. Now in the future if the girls are pretty tall when going into flowering you can trim off the lower branches which will not receive much light. 6' plant ~ lower 2' bare. But leave the fan leaves for the untrimmed 4' alone. No sense having energy going to an area which would not really develop.
