The polls are a sham!

    You're welcome Heather! What a task it is to try and find out what Americans will do Nov. 2, I have always doubted polls, I don't feel they truly represent American sentiment.
    This election will be very different than most, it looks like there will be more voters than ever! Truly historic, I wonder why;).
    Even though there is a clear media bias, and the Republicans are using shameful scare tactics and lies, we will still come out ahead. Unless Shrub steals the election AGAIN.

    Polls can be written to get any response. Its all in how the question is asked. This is Political Science 101.

    One of the bigger polling blunders was when pollsters predicted Dewey would defeat Truman in 1948. Pollsters used the telephone and called people at random. The results showed a clear lead for Dewey but Truman ended up winning.

    What they didn't consider was that a phone back then was a luxury for some and more Republicans owned them than Democrats. Even though the calls were dialed at random, the medium itself introduced a bias and the predictions were flawed.

    I didn't know that shaggy, that's interesting, thanks for posting it..i was always wondering about the polls and how precise they are :)
