    Hey all!

I've been neglecting my hair for like 3 months now... only washing it with water, and once a week with Baking soda...

I actually have five small quite tight dreads near my ear, which i think will turn out just nicley.... But the rest of my hair won't follow...

But I have been using a wool scarf and rubbed around on my head now and then, and after that I feel how the hair sections into various sizes, and I can imagine just how the dreads will emerge... and it feels great... but after i wash my hair with just water, it becomes pretty straight again and flat... which is a bummer... and i have too wool again

Is it something wrong with baking soda? My hair feels all soft and nice afterwards at least... I havn't touched a comb for 3 months, but it feels like there NO progress at all (apart from the 5 tight little ones by my ear)

This is how my hair looks like after "wooling"

I've heard it hurts the hair to wool? Is this true?

    peace!

I did the samething but decided my hair was not long enough so I need to wait a bit longer. Mine did the samething as far as a few knots starting, but stick with it. It'll take time but it will work.

Yes, 3 months is a very short period of time. Not to mention your hair is very short and looks straight, so there's less up there to tangle.

Don't give up though! I personally think starting natural dreads with short hair is so much easier... mine was nearly down to my butt and it was really difficult to manage :\

With natural dreads you have to start thinking in years, rather than months. 3 months is NOTHING!!! ...but by 3 years... well... if you keep to it and don't have a head full of nattys by that time THEN I'd start worrying :)

...oh forgot about the wool question: if you do choose to wool rub definitely do it in MODERATION. Too much CAN result in breakage... as in an ENTIRE dread can be rubbed right off  After a wool rubbing session or 2 LEAVE IT BE for a few months and see what the results are. Decide from there whether you want to continue wool rubbing or want to just let the hair go on its own.

If your hair is feeling all soft and nice after washing it with baking soda, then perhaps that's not the best way to go. If your hair is soft and smooth, it'll be harder to knot up. You'll get there either way, so no worries. Btw, what a nice face you have :)

    Hell yeah.

Curiosity, did you notice the rest of the dreads that formed since the first few near your ear you mentioned last year kind of followed from where those were. Meaning instead of your hair all dreading up at once, it kind of moved section by section from where it first started?

Did you continue the wool rubbing? I did it at the beginning too once or twice, but didnt notice much permanent results.

    Thanks for the coments =P

Well, yeah they started by my right ear, and then there started to form some in the front, and then on my left side too... the back of my head was the last to start dreading... which is strange, ive mostly heard from people that the back is the first to start lockin´...

Have not really been using wool more... but scratching my head a bit from timé to time haha
