    Dennis J. Kucinich

    presidential candidate
    democratic party
    some things he stands for:

Decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana.

Allow doctors to recommend marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes.

Strengthen the regulation and enforcement of the Clean Water Act.

Strengthen the regulation and enforcement of the Clean Air Act.

Strengthen emission controls and fuel efficiency standards on all gasoline and diesel-powered engines, including cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles.

Encourage further development and use of alternative fuels to reduce pollution.

Support the use of ethanol as an alternative fuel.

Allow energy producers to trade pollution credits.

Support the Kyoto Protocol to limit global warming.

I don't know everything this guy stands for.. but he seems pretty good from what I've read. Don't trust the man! But if someone's gotta be in control, the least we can do is try to pick the least-corrupt, most beneficial candidate.
    I can't vote though :[
If anyone has any opinions on other people running.. post it here, I'm very interested.

    Peace, Love, & Happiness
    Jackie

Not a savior in the whole bunch of them.

More of the same crap we've put up with for over 200 years now.

Well.....I think it's admirable that we idealistic folks on hipforums spend so much of our energies supporting candidates that are really different, such as Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich......however, they have to do more than just be different, or even right-they have to get votes.

As it stands, Kucininch got exactly 0 votes in the Iowa Caucus, and 1.7% of the votes in the New Hampshire Primary. Ron Paul came in fifth in both.

What any candidate that's not really part of the Establishment needs to do is to run an agressive campaign and really get the word out about them, if they want to have any hope of winning. If they don't, then we're just taking up a whole chunk of cyberspace talking about what these candidates would do if they were elected-and we might as well be arguing about when the Second Coming of Christ is going to happen-in other words, no time soon.

At this point, it would be a real long shot if Ron Paul pulled ahead enough in the Republican Primaries to win (if he doesn't start running as an independent, which would also be a real uphill battle) and Kucinich has almost no support at all. I really like the underdog, but they can't do the country much good if they just remain the underdog.

I thought I remembered reading that Kucinich finished second in either Iowa or New Hampshire.

Sorry, I'm not too impressed with any one of the candidates. I think, all policitians, regardless of party affiliation, they're all just fucking the same.

In fact, those who run for politics don't necessarily have to be the brightest minds. Manipulative, yes, but bright and intelligent, not necessarily. Just look at the one we got right now.

Other than Kucinich, there isn't a single candidate I want to see in the White House. We're fucked in 2009.

Nope, he has not done anything. At this point, it seems that even Edwards is out of the race, except if some miracle happens and he wins soon. It's too bad Kucinich has never been a viable candidate- he doesn't have the funds, name recognition or basic support of the general public.

Don't get me wrong- I agree with a lot of his policies; it's just not going to happen (sadly)

    Peace and love

He's dropped out now. But thanks Dennis for always making the race interesting and being a breath of fresh air during the debates.
