So i broke up with my boyfriend yesterday and found a place, and i'm supposed to move my stuff in today - but i know that if I go alone I'll get trapped there because he won't let me go and he's physically stronger than i am. I had a friend who was going to help me, but he worked all night and is tired now and has to work later today so now i have no one to come with me. what should i do? should I call the cops? I don't want to do that really because i have weed on me, but what else is there?
Are you at home? Maybe Canada's different, but I don't think they can search your house without a warrant, so don't worry about the weed, just hide it, or flush it down the toilet. Do you need to move today? Could you do it tomorrow when he's at work? If you have to do it now, I say call the cops and get a restraining order.
If you honestly think he will physically stop you from leaving make sure you go with somebody else. I doubt calling the cops to come with you would even work, but its worth a try. Most cops are to busy busting kids for pot though. How could she get a restraining order? (Do you not understand how hard that is?) and if she did how would she go get her stuff if its in HIS apartment? I am sorry I am not much help.
It was Our apartment and I was the first person on the lease but also, we were subletting so he has to find a place of his own and we work the same time of day. I figured something out though, I'm going to go get some stuff from there with my same friend and then take it to the new place,then tomorrow I'll go get the rest after work and (if he's even gone to work) I'll have time to grab it before he gets home! ta-da! if anyone has something they think would be better, post it and I might give it a shot instead.
