This forum is wonderful! Thanks to all for the advice they've posted and the moderators who keep it all running smoothly. I tried dreading my hair a couple of years ago with not so great results. From what I've read here and learned from others, I 'loved my dreads to death.' Washed them every day, rubberbanded the hell out of them, and was just too damn impatient their progress. Needless to say, that won't do.

After shaving my head, waiting a couple of years, and getting tired of worrying about the opinions of others, I decided to try dreading again. It wasn't hard since, no matter how often I brushed my hair, or used conditioner, I'd always have to tear knots up anyway. So, a week ago today, with my patient wife's help, two flea combs, and 6 hours of MST3K to pass the time, I've begun my dreadful journey once more. Fortunately this time around, I use 'dreadful' in a good way. Below are my week old dreadies.

I have yet to see anyone on this forum act impatiently toward another for asking too many questions. You're all beautiful people and I regard this forum to be the most informative due to it's helpfulness and approachability.

    Namaste!
