I was sat smokin it up atfer work with a few beers and some tunes and realised what a massive part of my life and spiritual wellbeing music is! Now some people might not get on this but even when i was 8 i remember stealling my dads Pink floyd,s Wall album and being able to almost relate to the lyrics and the music as it entered my ears in an almost orgasmic way! Also according to my mum when i first heard 'Imagine' as a child it moved me so much i cried. As i grew up i felt the need to play the guitar. This grew into an addiction that cant be quit. Has music got inside you in this way? Do you just hear good sounds or does your mind absorb every beat, lyric and riff? Thanks for readin!
Your dead right. without it life would be shit, but then life is music. Ringo star and sting are playing on top of a building in my home town tonight, trippy as fuck!
I know exactly what you mean man. Radiohead does it for me. The album OK Computer is so perfect. Also, if you are looking for some jazz/funky type stuff that is quite possibly some of the grooviest music in the world, get the Chris Potter album "Follow the Red Line: Live at the Village Vanguard." I was at one of the shows his band played at the Village Vanguard, and it was the best thing I've ever seen. Being able to listen to it is divine. But anyway, yes, there are times when I'm listening to music where I have absolutely no control over my body, especially when I listen to good, good jazz. My face twitches, I say "yeah," my head bobs, my feet tap so hard I feel like they're going to break through the floor. As was stated before, life is music.
