the inside of new shoes...reminds me of something mother always said to me "Don't ever work in retail"
you must be very very old to remember that... actually that reminds me, the smell of hay sometimes takes me back..
Not that long ago, only 20-25 years ago before the flood of home video games, computers, and the internet Hotwater
Hotwater, you took my answer! We had an acre to mow and it was my job to mow it. I remember that at the time I hated it, just wasting time that I could have been playing baseball. But now every time I smell fresh cut grass all those great summers come flooding back!
lol it does have its own unique smell cowshit aintr no better smell on earth if ya ask me percolated coffee diesel engines just after being started plain ol womens musk,,,
well i grew up in pine scented mountain woodlands where my dad worked for the railroad in all the little stations and towers along the way. so for me its the smell of pine needles/pine pitch, and admixed with it the particular combination of smells that go with diesel-electric railway locomotives and railway rights of way, especially in the snow sheds up at norden (california, where they used to cut off the helper engines and send them back down the hill to roseville, where i live now). creaosote and mecco (flange lubricant aplicaters on curves) grease are also subtle notes in that flavour, as are the lives and deaths of all the little creatures that lived out in the woods there, and those that came into our yard and all the strays ma fed and adopted and so on. wood, coal, oil and gas/propane, heat. those too. but the main one, that all the others were subtle shaidings to, is/was, pine needles. (and NOT 'pinesol' btw, which smells absolutely nothing at all like any of it! nor for that matter, do most pine scented arosauls, although ceder stick incense does a little) =^^= .../\...
I have to agree. It reminds me of so many fun times at mygran's and also of mydad's little rose garden at ou house. I love it.
