my dreadheadhq soap is almost gone...i don't think i will ever use it again. i was in the organic foods section at fred meyer and i saw fair trade soaps. are these good for dreads? i was kinda looking for something i could buy in town and dr. bronners i could only find on the net.
Baking soda FTW! Seriously check out the Deep Cleaning Concoction thread. Great at cleaning the hair/scalp and it's ingredients are all really easy to find.
look for whatever is labeled "Castile Soap" - its the type of soap that Dr. Bronner's is - its a genre of soap that is completely natural, additive free. A lot of brands make a castile soap, not just Bronners, so look, or just ask your store attendant. Make sure to look at the ingredients and double check though. All natural, bro
well if you like chemicals then normal shampoo will do fine, if not then get a castile soap...personal preference really
HippieAdrien, I'd look again for Bronners at the fred meyer in Anchorage. Both of their stores in Fairbanks sell it (in the natural section) so if they really don't stock it they can surely get it for you.
is any type of bronners ok to use? i just bought some liquid stuff, but it seems to be mostly oils, which concerns me, since i thought oils made knots slip. also, do you just follow the directions on the bottle, or do you wash yours some other way?
I don't know, but I just bought one of their bar soaps and it's the best soap I have ever used in my life.
from what i know, you need to dilute your liquid bronners with water about 11 or 12 water to 1 bronners. otherwise, it is oily and will build up on your scalp.
