hi again.. i've started doing my dreadlocks but they are spiked cuz my hair was like 6'', and i did not finish the entirely head yet..
i wanted to buy a nice wool tam to wear untill they dread up more and get down
i've been searching arround on the internet.. there are some nice tams but i dont like the fact of buying Online products.. in addition i dont have a U.S credit card, and never bought anything online with my name.... and I like to SEE and FEEL the product.. you know...

well... so here are my questions:
    1. Does anyone knows where to buy a wool tam or any dread hat(cuz i saw "applejacks", and i dunno what was that but i liked it) PERSONALLY?????(store in U.S, California to be more specific)

    2. or if you dont know, do you know any VERY GOOD tams quality, liable and fast delivering(or not) internet websites that you guys recommend?

OR i'm even willing to knit a tam, but i need some tutorials please..., but i think that buying one is goin to be much more easier and etc...

last thing.. my head is kinda big >.< so, does the size matter? should i get a Large or Medium? (thats why i want to go to a STORE to try out and feel... and not open a delivered box and surprise myself)

    THANKS a LOT buds!!
stay with God! fica com Deus! PEACE!!!!
ps. ill post some pics as soon as i get the rest of my dreadlocks

Hi, welcome. Sorry I can't point you towards local tams. Maybe do a search for a head shop, they would likely carry them. Or maybe you can hire a knotter/crocheter. You buy the yarn, so you know how it feels and looks, then send it to be made. I am sure there are a few people on this board who would love to help ya out.

Otherwise, yeah check out www.ETSY.com Its a great site. You dont need a US credit card to buy stuff online. check out www.paypal.com , its free.

    Where in California?

If you're anywhere near Venice Beach or Santa Monica there's a grip of shops along the strand that carry em. All sorts of sizes, colors, and styles too.

you should crochet one... All you need to know is how to chain and single crochet. One of these days I will post photos of a few of the tams ive made.

Not sure about what's down in San Diego..

I'd definitely recommend Venice Beach, especially if you live in SoCal! It's a must, where have you been! lol Just messin :p
But anywho... If you go to Venice Beach, find Rose Avenue (or 'Street' can't recall..). Once you locate Rose just follow it toward the ocean and you'll be smack on the beach's strand (there's even a beach parking lot at the end of it.). No specific stores really, just walk along and you'll see plenty of em. =)
