Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, was assassinated today, Thursday, December 27, 2007. She fought for democracy, and was a wonderful beacon for the oppressed women of Pakistan. She tried to make their world better and they killed her.
i heard this too but don't know the details of it yet. it would seems it's no different than the assassination of Martin L King. there's always a group of people that want to keep another one down even to the extent of killing a leader as we have just witnessed. i pray that the people of Pakistan will find their way out of the mess that has been created.
I found these saddening news. Those people not only killed such a wonderful woman, but they lost their chance at living in a better world.
When I picked up the newspaper and saw this, I felt down again; another good person shot down, another wasted life, another chance, another hope, destroyed. Of course Islamists would kill her. Women shouldn't be doing this kind of thing, hmm?
This is my point for why Canada should pull out from Iraq. Iraq/Pakistan/The Middle East DOESN'T WANT OUR HELP. I don't know why we keep trying to help, because it's getting people killed, and we really aren't going anywhere with it. They've been around longer than Amerika. I say if they wanna fight amongst themselves, let em. At least let us out though.
I don't understand how you can say THEY killed her as if all people of Pakistan are of one mind. Judging from the endless sea of people that can be seen mourning her death, it's obvious that there is a significant portion of the country that supported her. THEY didn't kill her, she was killed by an extremist who doesn't agree with her stance on certain issues. To all the people who are saying that "they" killed her as if she was a prophet walking among whole bunch of people who hated her and everything she stood for, your vilifying an entire country for the actions of one individual.
One of the probable reasons she died was because of her party's strong ties with the united states. She was probably the best candidate for pakistan(albeit a little corrupt), and it will be interesting to see the results of the election.
I don't think Myself was referring to the people of Pakistan, by "them" she probably meant those (extremists) who killed Benazir Bhutto... But I do agree that this kind of statements should be a little bit clearer than people usually write them, in order to avoid such ambiguities. Anyway, I also felt really sad when I heard about her death. Unfortunately, it was predictable.
