My friends think I am a druggie. Do yours?

Ive known my friends for a very long time and i consider them brothers. I smoke pot with most of them but I loooove Psychedelic drugs! I am not into any other drugs like coke or heroin. I lived in vegas for 10 years and i decided to move to reno for a few months. In reno I did acid three times and coke a few times, but i am not going to do coke again. I told my "bros" everything I did and now they think I am a druggie and all i care about is doing drugs which isnt true it all. It kind of sucks when peoples perspective changes towards you cuz they start to look down on you and disrespect you.
They all started to become worried about me and started talking about my "drug problem" behind my back. The only way I found out about this is cuz my bro told me. He is really conservative and christian so he hates all drugs and he always trys to get me to stop. I try to tell my friends that I going to be alright but all they do is look at my dad (who was a huuuuge druggie) and they think thats what i am going to become. Oh well thats my rant, i wish people didnt look down on people who like to experiment with drugs. As long as we arent addicted to them!

 

my entire school does. kids ive never met 3 years younger than me ask me if i do drugs. im pretty much friends with everyone in my grade and id say about 90% think i do much more drugs than i do, with 50% thinking i do shit like coke! i mean i was at the movie theater and was asked by an 11th grader (im in 9th) asked if i could hook him up with some weed. id only met this dude a couple of times before and ive never sold in my life. i mean jesus i havent smoked in a month or 2 (albeit forceably) but still.

Exactly the same with my private school friends. It makes my school life miserable. I'd just like to squeeze each of their head and shake them vigorously screaming that the drugs I do are almost completely harmless and they need to shut up.
I'd like to go on to get a fantastic job as a doctor or something so I can show up ten years later and tell them all to fuck off and how I still made it.
But I'm plaaning on leaving America as soon as I can after schooling before this place goes to shit, so then, at the 10 high school reunion they'll just tjink I died or something, which sucks, but maybe they'll hear that I actually am succesful in whatever country i move to.
But as for now, I just handle myself well, and show them how much more peaceful I am than they are, and when they ask me how I deal with all this shit at once, I just let them know that the weed helps me think more about my problems and solve them logically, and un-biased, rather than a simple spur of the moment decision with everything in life. I like to let decisions marinate for a while.

I'm scared to let them know that I'm going to try shrooms very soon. They'll light into me if they ever find that out.

 

Alot of people think i do alot of drugs and i do do alot of hard drugs but im smart about it. My friends arent pussy little kids though like your friends sound like and understand that trying cocaine few times and doing hallucinogens isnt a big deal.

 

A few people have given me crap because of some of the harder stuff I've done in the past...my bf's the only one who gives me shit about being a pothead, but he's mostly kidding lol.

I'm just careful about who I discuss my habits/history with, because I've had "friends" make me feel like total shit before. I told the person I considered my best friend that I'd tried heroin, shrooms and coke before (at the time I'd only tried each thing once), and she acted like I was an irredeemable druggie. She kept on bringing it up and making cruel jokes about it around people and in private. Yeah, I probably wouldn't do heroin again if I could go back in time...but I don't regret it. I'm fucking LUCKY that I only tried it once and didn't get addicted. Anyway yeah, I don't discuss drugs with people unless I know they're not going to treat me badly or differently.

Ugghhhhh, just talking about it pisses me off. What a bitch.

Right now I only smoke pot, but I don't go around telling people. Most people can tell from looking at me and talking to me, though.

 

i was always quiet about my drug use, until i smoked pot with a loudmouth who tells everyone in my grade that i'm a pot head (i'm a pothead by societies standards, but in my school a pothead means that you do dirty shit like steal, fight, and are generally loud, which i'm not).

everyone thinks i've got those qualties and that my next phase will be to start sniffing coke (which i will, but fuck that has nothing to do with this). anyway none of my school except close friends know that i'm completely obsessed with LSD, Mushrooms, and other psychedelics, but the people like my cousins who do know i take LSD think i'm a complete fuck up. one cousin gets fucked on ecstasy every weekend and looks down on LSD.

Well personally i found that people knowing i'm a pothead has given me at least some respect in the sense that people now know that i'm not just "that quiet kid" but i'm now "that quiet kid who is reeeallly baked"

my party friends are all hardcore into LSD, mush, ecstasy, and other psychedelics (they don't touch anything addictive tho). so these people are the only people that i can actually talk to about drugs freely, which is a nice relief.

so far telling people i smoke pot has been a good thing. i've met lots of friends though pot, and got myself a new reputation. telling them about my adventure with psychedelics as mostly been negative, and i've learnt not to tell anyone about it unless i feel strongly that they are doing these drugs themselves.

 

that is the perfect world, yet people these days have so many insecurities they need people like us to look down upon, it makes them feel waaaay better about themselves.

 

out of me and my girlfriends, i am the one that smokes most often. sometimes my girl friends will smoke a couple times with me, but it's definetly not as much as i smoke. they are the ones that i hang out with the most and their opinion matters most to me out of all my friends.

they def. look down upon me smoking all the time. especially my best friend since 7th grade. she always makes jokes about it and calls me a pot head. and every time i make a mistake about something she'll say it's because i smoke too much. every time i smoke by myself they all laugh and say it's ridiculous that i need to get high so bad that i can't wait for someone to smoke with me.

it makes me really mad, cause weed isn't that bad anyway, and just because i like to chill and smoke all the time (sometimes by myelf) they think that i'm a huge druggie. i don't even do any other drugs besides weed, well shrooms, and sometimes some pills (which they think shrooms and pills are just horrible)

 

I had this problem as well. I corrected it by giving the longest coldest craziest stares at anyone who would joke/ask if Im high.

 

Most of my friends do not know I smoke weed.

It is hard to tell if someone is high if they are always high.

 

My good friends in high school were all doing the same drugs as me so no one considered anyone else a "druggie". To the masses though, I was never looked at or considered a druggie, most people act surprised if they see me partaking in any drug use. I hate people that are flamboyant about their drug use, I always liked having the mystery that no one knew I was baked or messed up.
And now, most of my friends have done far more intense drugs then me anyhow, but I don't considered them "druggies". They are just people who appreciate and experiment with drugs.

 

i go to a school of about 60 kids and we all do drugs because its a pretty bad school. i seem like a saint to everyone when i say i only smoke weed.

 

Thanks for all the feedback, my brother thinks I am brainwashed because I Dont really think drugs are a big deal. Its just how you use them. Im not snortin coke every day or droppin acid everyday.

 

yeah and alot of people stopped hanging out with me because they thought that. i go to raves somtimes and thizz and ive done coke once and trip alot and eat adderal&xanax probably once a week and sometimes oc's, and smoke every day haha. i dont know i guess that does make me a "druggie" but im not any different than i was before,they just dont like me because i do drugs or something. all of them smoked and drank and still do alot and some of them have done mushrooms. its probably because they know i do pills and coke. i dont talk to them anymore so i dont know why

 

shit man, 9th grade, i smoke pot a few times dig it and tell a few friends about it , and oh god this dude is a pothead, it was that way until they all turned on the the herb and see its not big deal at all, now most of us smoke together haha.

 

Just wait until you get to college, and then tell them all to go fuck themselves. Then you'll be in a giant university where no one knows who the fuck you are anyway except for the people you actually hang around.

I know how it feels though man, before I even smoked I read a lot about drugs because they intrigued me (I've only done mush, lsd and pot...I don't even drink and I haven't done anything except pot in over a year). So people assumed I smoked like everyday and a shitload and this and that...but really, I hardly ever did, and hardly ever do. They're just fucking ignorant and you'll be done with them soon enough.

 

Thats stupid they think like that there is nothing wrong with smoking by your self i find it relaxing and i can be alone with my thoughts

 

if they talk shit about you behind your back, they arent really friends are they?
