www.blackle.com is the same search engine as Google, but it saves energy because the background color is black and not white. So less pixels are turned on to shine and waste energy. Save money on your electrical bill and save the earth in the process! How easy is that?! SEARCH USING WWW.BLACKLE.COM!!!
There are around 25 different versions of “black google” online. The best one I’ve found is www.cleanblack.com. Cleanblack is the only version that allows you to change the text colors of the google search results. Try it yourself by going to www.cleanblack.com/theme/
This google is funny as shit, it translates webpages into "african-american" talk. haha blackle is an interesting site, although fairly old.. i just keep forgetting about it haha
actually, it is for some people, easier on the eyes, too. I popped in forest on the second suggestion.
Only saves energy on a CRT; LCD backlights are on all of the time the monitor is active and energy consumption is the same regardless of pixel state.
You can set Google to black background (you can do it with any site) by using the stylish extension on firefox see the screenshot
ok, so how do I do that. I just like the darker screen because most pages I work on are light and I know which window to click if the search is black.
I prefer Windowblinds. http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/ If you want to change the look of things on your computer, this is the place. Excellent product. Mine looks like black and blue polished glass. I prefer a darker contrast on things. x
you run firefox- go here, click on "add to firefox" after you restart firefox you will see a stylish icon on the bottom left for most websites you just need to click on that icon and choose "find styles for this page". you can also write styles yourself. another option is to choose "global styles" which will affect everything here is hip forum under the global style "blackify" unlike other solutions that were offered here , "stylish" is a free ,open-source solution and it works on all operating systems
