First of all: HAPPY NEW YEAR. Now to the news everyone's talking about. If there were any doubts that Religious Right voters are still a powerful force in the Republican Party, Mike Huckabee's huge win in the Iowa Republican caucuses last night put them to rest. Huckabee's friendly, folksy demeanor can distract attention from the disturbing fact that he and his backers essentially urged conservative evangelicals to vote for him based on his being the "right" kind of Christian. That should make Americans very nervous. Governor Huckabee has pledged to support every item on the Radical Right's wish list: a constitutional ban on abortion, a veto of legislation to protect gay and lesbian Americans from discrimination, support for a bill to keep federal courts from intervening when local officials violate the separation of church and state, and most importantly, a far-right Supreme Court. When asked about what kind of justices Huckabee would appoint to the Supreme Court -- something CNN predicts the next president could get to do three or more times -- his answer was: "I would want people who are in the spirit of Scalia. He's probably my hero in the Court." That should make Americans even more nervous. doesn't make me nervous... I could roll with him as pres if it comes to that... although mr Ron Paul is still my man
I don't know what you're talking about. Huck is a kickass fellow. He actually talks to Jesus... How much cooler could it get?
If elected he will have just used the religious right like the current administration I despise Ron Paul for some reason, probably because Cranky elbow sucks his cock
He's a pretty cool fellow for sure, what with the isolation of AIDs patients statements and anti-muslim, anti-gay, anti-not NEO christian conservative.... If that sketchy bastard wins I'm fucking vapor!
Honestly though... I would truly love to see Huckabee win. This will prove once and for all that life is actually one big joke. Hah
Yeah, I know that. Voting does shit. Just whatever. Personally I don't care... I got mad good stuff going on and shall be rolling tonight in Philly and dancing which will be my current fuck you to the world.
Nothing will change because this election is practically irrelevant. No one is getting out of Iraq in the next 4 years, it's too late to save social security, building a healthy social healthcare system will take more than 4 years, and illegal immigration ain't gonna stop. Then all that's left are social issues... which are stupid as it is. Might as well vote for Paul or Obama if you're a pothead... Obama could probably easily be pressured into legalizing marijuana, since he's all liberal and college-kid oriented and shit.
