in movies I cry my eyes out and then cry afterwards when I think about it again. especially when it's a dog that dies. but humans dying doesn't really move me.
in real life I tend to be more sad if a pet dies than a family member I just get more attached to their life - where as a person I guess I feel can live on in memory, so fuck it =P
ive never had to deal with death of a close family member so im not sure how id cope.. but i know it was awful when my first dog died, and i still cry about sometimes 4 years later. i think when people die i cry more for the ones they left behind
I'm exactly like that as well. Ever seen this horrible Disney movie called 8 Below? I've never cried so much as I did when I watched that.
some animals have to die for some animals to live. cats and dogs are natural preditors too. humans are also animals so i don't see the difference on that level. although i don't think there's any kind of life form that can't live without eating humans, or at least if there ever was, the're long extinct from our not feeding them. but if humans died by giving their lives to some preditor the way deer and other ungulates die by giving their lives to carnivours and omnivours like bears and us, would not that be in the same way emotionally moving, even spiritual? of course between different species of omnivours, sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you. we think we're so different because we make so many artifacts. well i like some of those artifacts, the're fun to play with and roofs that don't leak and refrigerators for saving our kills for later are cool, but we're still life forms, or rather what our awairnessess occupy are, and only prejudicial speculation makes assumptions of inferiority about the awairnessess that occupy "lesser" life forms. of course you sort of have to draw the line at hive minds like insects, not for any intrinsic reason so much as practical ones. besides if they really are hive minds, then the loss of a few individuals in preventing their colonizations where these would create health hazzards, wouldn't neccessarily hamper the minds of their parental hives/tribes. =^^= .../\...
when there are real life accidents or whatever, i like to know if the dog is ok =p yea it moves me a lot when animals die & that.
*repressed memories of My Dog Skip* ;_; Now I'm remembering all the animals I've had that died. Thanks a lot. Jerks.
I cried when Godzilla died True story I thought it was cruel how it was all tied up on the bridge screaming as everyone shot it
