I got death threats in my email when I came out in high school. I tried to take the high road and pay no attention... for about five seconds, then the vengeful and old testament me came out. So I got the cops involved and suddenly they didn't pester me anymore!

I couldn't ever imagine coming out in highschool. Everything was confusing enough without that element of being openly gay. At that point in my life I kind of suppressed it completely. It wasn't until college that I came out to friends, and the only members of my family that know now are my bro and sis. So I have tremendous respect for people like you, Zachimus who really put yourself out there in spite of the ignorant people that (for no good reason) hold that against you.

Anywho, the only incident that I ever experienced personally that even remotely resembles a gay bashing happened just a few months ago. Myself and a few heterosexual friends of mine were going to see Rocky Horror at this theater in Cambridge, so we dressed in drag. We went all out too, shaved our faces and legs, wore eyeliner and lipstick and these ADORABLE skirts. But before we could even leave campus some guys yelled "FAGGOTS" at us. Ironic, since my friend, who received the same abuse, wasn't even gay. We both just happened to like dressing up. Its not our fault we were fabulous!

Love dressing up for Rocky Horror. Not that I look good in fishnets and a corset... and the cold of an Indiana winter wasn't that flattering, but it's so much fun!

I'm fucking sick of gay bashing. Some of the people in my town are assholes (actually alot of them are) and alot of people have called me a fag, faggot, queer, etc. The school I attend (a Catholic school) is a huge homophobic school. Of course the faculty aren't the homophobes (although there is one teacher who feels that every gay person is going to hell and that it's a sin) but it's some of the students. They're such fucking assholes. Their maturity level isn't one to be desired...I dunno man, I'm just sick of hearing homophobic comments made about me, about others, about gay people in general. It's fucking asinine.

My patience is wearing thin on many things. :[
