We're bed shopping at the moment. I'm really wanting a massive wooden bed frame and a nice soft super comfy mattress whereas my boyfriend is perfectly happy with his old futon... I can see it taking a while before we come to an agreement.

Anyhoo, what kind of a bed have you got/ would like to have?

I'm fine with a mattress on the floor really but it's gotta be a really good one. I have the back of an old person.

when we decided to stay down here this winter instead of the cabin,we attempted to sleep in the bed and after a year and a half on a pallet we just couldnt deal with the bed so we packed it away made a pallet on the floor....

heh i don't even have a mattress :p i sleep on the couch out of laziness a lot of the time, but its too small and soft and it is no good for my back. i need something firm to sleep on, and i need to be able to roll around. i often prefer sleeping on something firm but slightly yielding to a proper mattress as the support prevents excessive aching. i slept on a waterbed for a few months once and it was great at first....but after a while i just had constant pain in my back throughout the day. i need support....when i go back to sleeping in a proper bed, i need a good, firm mattress

We have a nice, comfy bed. We spent all day testing beds in different stores before we bought it for our anniversary about 12 years ago. We tend to hang on to things forever, so we wanted to pick something good. It's insanely comfortable-so much that it's hard to get up sometimes!

We just have a Queen size set of box springs and mattress on the ground. It's already almost too tall for me to climb into without a frame making it higher.

I have a queen sized lowish platform bed with a memory foam mattress and Egyptian cotton sheets. All other beds pale in comparison.

i disagree....my bed-like sleeping area is rather dark green, and the pillowcase is grey from not being washed with white clothes only

I have a king size bed in my room that I've slept in since we moved here (came with the house) and it's been hell. Took me a while to realize that one (but not all) of the reasons I've been having trouble sleeping was this big old mattress. It just sinks when you sit on it and I wake up with a backache. This is a problem since I have mild scoliosis and have back pain anyway.
So anyway, a few weeks ago my bro stopped using my old bed that I was using before we moved here (a twin with better mattresses) and I wanted it back. Well, I just ended up getting the mattresses (dad offered to bring up the frame but I declined), but I've always wanted to sleep this low to the ground anyway, (feels closer to the earth somehow) and I've been sleeping so much better. Me loves!

My bed is super comfy kinda soft, but still firm enough to support my back. The frame is made out of both metal and wood. It has wooden posts and supports and metal scroll work for the head and foot board. I could take a picture but I don't feel like it.
