nesta, I want to drink some beer with you :)
You seem to know so much about it. I just love beer, I drink it and know nothing about it, I do love drinking beer with people who have a passion for beer because that usually ends up in me drinking really good beer :D

im probably the only one out there like this but i just do not enjoy alcohol at all. ive been drunk several times befor and its just not my thing. on the other hand i wished i did enjoy it just so i could call it mansoda.

Well no offense to you class, but "mansoda" is sort of a juvenile term. It's like saying that you're upgrading from soda to beer because you're a "man" now. I drink beer occasionaly. It's not my favorite alcohol, but sometimes I just feel like a beer. I was drinking blue moon last night with orange slices.

blue moon is pretty decent, all things considered

i'd prefer hoegaarden or wittekerke though, neither of which are much more expensive than blue moon, and hoegaarden in particular is only very slightly more difficult to find than blue moon

Yes we had that talk once nesta. :) I was able to find hoegaarden, and I loved it. I did like it better than blue moon, but I can't find it in every package store. Also they both cost the same. About 7.99 a 6pack.

I hvae a hoegaarden glass. it's my favourite. though it's rarely filled with the right liquid... it's hard to find hoegaarden around here.

    thats surprising to me.....

well how about unibroue? you live in canada, right? i believe the unibroue brewery is in quebec, not nova scotia, but its all over the place here and as far as i know EVERY lcbo store carries their beers.....they make a pretty good witbier called blanche de chambly. its not hoegaarden or wittekerke, but its still pretty damn good in my opinion. a bit pricier though...it runs about 5-6USD per 75cl bottle

(thats what NS stands for, right? nova scotia?)

Perhaps its because I haven't really been looking for it, but I don't think I've ever seen Unibroue around, heard of it, but only from people closer to central canada.

thats wierd...it has seemed to me to be pretty widely circulated, i've even seen it in the grocery out on this island near seattle, way the fuck away from quebec....and i see it in a healthy number of places here in ohio, too, even though we're at least somewhat closer....

hmm....maybe you guys dont get it many places out there....that would be too bad, because they make a lot of really good examples of belgian beer styles.

trois pistoles is one of my favorites of theres, along with la fin du monde, don de dieu, and blanche de chambly

i do. when i was four or five i sneaked a sip out of an ungaurded can of budweiser.

i loved it. i know better now.

i certainly didnt drink the whole thing for fear of getting in trouble, but it was my first beer.

it wasn't until years later that i would have my first full serving of beer, and a while after that until i got drunk from beer first.

first time drunk was awesome, was me and 2 other friends, had about 5 beers each. just chilled and had a good time playing guitar hero. oh, and his mom caught us at the end of the night. we denied everything until she said "what the fuck is that?" and pointed to a bottle of vodka. sucks too, because we took it out but then decided we were good and just left it there in the middle of the floor.
sounds like you know your shit nesta, would be awesome trying some of that, but pretty much the only beer available to jobless teens is keystone light. tastes like piss, but its cheap and it gets the job done.

my first time drunk i think i was in 8th grade.
my mom bought it for me and some of my friends.. we decided to chug the first beer just to "celebrate" (what, i don't know) and i did'nt know if you chugged beer and never really drank beer you could get sick, and right after i chugged that beer i threw up, but i drank more anyway and it ended up being a fun night

My first time drunk I was 14 at a new year's eve party. I left the house saying to my cousin that I was going to get drunk and she gave me this look of "oh my god", since I was this really hyperactive crazy teenager and she's like 2 years older than me, but she doesnt do anything at all, no drugs, no alcohol. We are complete opposites, but we get along great. I love her.
So I went to the party and I'm like yay tequila shot, yay vodka, yay cuba libre, yay tequila shot. I think it didnt take me an hour to get me drunk and then...
hmm, actually Im actually stopping this story here, because now that I think of it, it's really messed up :(

i was on a family trip in boston, and in the basement where me and my cousin were staying (we were 14) there was this huge fridge filled with it, so we drank alot. we didn't know we would be pissing every 5 seconds, and there was no bathroom in the basement, so we kept going upstairs, trying to be quiet but ending up giggling the whole time anyway.

as long as the sad face isn't TOO sad i guess it's an ok story.

    but either way....

i hate sodapop in general (with the very, very, very rare exceptions of the occasional ginger ale, dr. pepper, or really good root beer....i just hate how its so fucking sweet....and you have the choice of normal sweetness, which is way too sweet and too high in calories, or of diet pop, which is made with artificial sweeteners and universally tastes like shit, as does ANYTHING made with artificial sweeteners.

i wish they made pop that was made with real sugar, or hell, even just real corn syrup, but just about half as sweet as it normally is.

there are a ton of sodapops whose flavor i enjoy, but the sweetness is so overwhelming i hate it.

anyway, the point of this incredibly long tangent is that one of the few times i can drink soda is in a cuba libre...a proper one with lime...and preferrably heavy on the rum, light on the cola, and preferably good rum at that....course i'm easy to please when it comes to rum...sailor jerry's if it's spiced, anything dark regardless of real quality, any good aged rum or blend of aged rums (like pyrat xo)
