So i want to wrap some of my hair to help speed up the process. I'm 11 months in and dont have much going on.
What do u use to wrap your hair?
How long do i leave it for?
Do i take it out when i wash my hair?
    Any advice is greatly appreciated

I used to have wraps on some of my dreads. I used synthetic yarn but most people use wool (I didn't use wool because I'm allergic). I just left them in while I washed my hair. Remember, wool takes a while to dry. I left them in only for a month and noticed a difference. The dreads were tighter and a little smaller than the rest.

I have used hemp, cloth, and yarn. I have one hemp wrap that has been in there for about a year. You don't take it out when you wash. Depending on how thick the lock you wrap is you can leave it in indefinitely. Beware as I have heard stories of people's hair not drying properly under a wrap and the hair getting moldy. This has not happened to me though. Go for it. Wraps are easy to do and look great.

about the same thing as Goatboy, but i've stuck with hemp mainly.

i tried to literally wrap the hemp once, and it didn't stay so nice. so i just used macrame on em, and it worked great!

but DEFINITELY watch out when you wash. i usually have to pay more attention to the hemp-wrapped ones so they will dry good.

Wrapping your hair only makes thin dreads? Do i wrap really tight?

You want it tight enough so that it's snug and the material (yarn, hemp, etc.) doesn't just slide down and bunch down at the end of your dread, but not so tight that they can't dry.

I think they're great. I have them every now and then, just using different types of yarn, in funky colours. I can't leave them in too long though because my dread will start to go green, no matter how I dry them!
