hey friends, just wondering which one of these you like better. I have been to nelson ledges before but never to been to legend valley. Any info will be appreciated.
im headed to the grateful garcia gathering next summer. this will be my first time. it looks pretty great and the lineup isnt bad at all. other than that..aha, i dont have a lot of info on it. ive never heard of the other.-raine
never heard of these kinds of festivals. are these bands that only play the dead music or do they offer jambands in general?
cant really say i like either better, their both great times, and pretty different from each other. grateful fest is a longer hang out kinda festival, and most of the ppl that attend are regulars at nlqp. where as 3g is more of a one off festival across the country type thing. as for the venue legend valley - super nice chill place - been to many hookahvilles there. most of the shows there have a little more of an open feeling too because of the attendees (you get a good bit of ppl who are just curious and not your typical festie kids, due to the popularity and size of hookahville). sorry i cant help more but i dont really understand what your trying to look for. if you have more questions about either i can give you some input ive attended both and im a regular at nlqp and at the hookahvilles and other festivals in the tri state area (im from pittsburgh)
thanks alot for your post mephime. That pretty much sums it up for me. I was really just wondering about the crowd and vibe for the most part. I think i am going to pick the grateful fest at nlqp. I really like how they have so much shade to camp in and it sounds like it is a little more heady. Thanks again for your input.
heres another one i dont know if your familiar with or not its called the Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash, it's in terra alta, wv (near morgantown). its also not far from the other 2. also a real nice crowd - good bit of ppl there have been around the scene along time and are from dead tour. just another option you might wanna check out, if your not already familiar with.
