not in the "time machine" sense.......

the laws of relativity.....to get into that would take a whole nother thread and a looooong time....just look it up. I swear it's true! But a short answer here: time ticks slower the closer it gets to a large mass. I if you were to jump off a 10 story building, you wouldn't die because gravity pulled you to the Earth....you would die because time ticks slower on ground level than it does on the 10th floor.....yeah, it gets really trippy....

time is relevant, basically.

 

You WOULD die because gravity pulled you to the ground... and the impact would kill you...

My grandmother believes that if she rubs her index finger over the screen of slot machines that she will have a better chance of winning. It's completely idiotic, but if it makes her happy, who am I to tell her any different?? As long as someone isnt putting their dogma in my face, I dont care if they worship space monkeys from the planet petunia. I try not to concern myself with the sheer ignorance of the masses. If it makes life a little easier for someone to believe in things bigger than them, then they should be able to believe.

I do believe that there are things out of human control, I think that there are things that defy science and rationality. Can I prove it? Not really. Any large group will flow with the masses to avoid being ostracized. Actually it comforts me greatly. There is hope that one day, I will achieve my dream of forming my own cult.

 

hey....I didnt make this up! I took a few astronomy courses, and I am only repeating other theories. That class will blow your mind...and these are scientists who are coming up with this stuff! So there is some rationality behind them....there is also a theory that there are 6 known dimentions, and that after the big bang there could have been at least 10......also string theory....I'm tellin you, there is alot we have NO CLUE about.....alot that cannot be explained in our rational minds(yet, at least)

 

Some people can actually do some paranormal stuff. And I'm not talking about charlatans here, as there are many of those.
It may be that people usually like to create a better, imaginary world for themselves. Reality can be a disappointment. People get creative. And illusions come out due to the disappointments encountered in the real world. Life is difficult and complicated, and it's probably to cope with that that people hold on to illusions, or to the fantasy world of childhood.

 

I believe that to be on this forum you must be accepting. Not everyone is meant to believe in God or a higher power right now. We all have our own time. And if we don't have the patience to wait for others to believe in something higher, we shouldn't be on here. Complaining and impatience towards others beliefs shows ignorance. Just accept those who do believe in fairies and perhaps sooner or later they will come over to what you feel or you may realize how you have been wrong. The point is the condemn and judge others is to condemn and judge yourself.
