Best way to meet other guys?

I only recently admitted to myself that I am gay - which was a rather big deal for me. I'm still closeted around my friends and family. I want to meet other guys, but honestly really don't know how to go about it. I can't go to a bar, as I'm only 19. I have considered online dating but really am not that comfortable with it. Any suggestions for me? I live in Los Angeles, in torrance if the info helps.

 

Hey Day Dreamer, I don't know anything about LA or that area but I am sure there are lots of gay oriented groups or activities around the area. Maybe a google search for Gay groups, social activism, educational, support, whatever. I'd avoid online dating till you've had a chance to meet local folks and felt out your own comfort level. You didn't say if you're in school or not but most universities have Gay organizations on campus. I think you'd be a lot happier meeting someone in a group or organization simply because they'll be sober and you'l have a better chance of figuring out if you're really interested in them. Do you go to school? Or have a job?

I find that's the easiest way to meet people.

 

I'm currently working, unfortunately. I will get back to my education when funds allow.

I found a couple of centers close to me. Any other suggestions?

 

you only have to be 18 to go to certain dance clubs
