meh, I don't really get impressed by those. Sure they're alright, but anyone with money coming out of their asses could do it. It's just people bragging, and that's it. Some people find it cool but I don't. Whatever.
If that's your thing, cool. It takes a talented artisan to create something like that. I have done some basic case mods in my time. Usually, I don't do case mods unless it helps performance. I like to cut out the fan holes, spray soundproofing, and paint my cases two-toned. I did a Hello Kitty case for my girlfriend once. That was about looks.
This is a project I've wanted to take on for awhile. Remember the computers in the Jurassic Park control room with all the red LED's on the front? The computers were thinking machines CM-5's. This would be so bad ass to replicate on a home PC. image: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Frostburg.jpg wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connection_Machine
That is so so cool! It makes me think of Doc on back to the future! What he might build when he was in the old west episode.
I'm talking about miniaturizing it to an ATX case and basically making a board with an ass load of red LEDs that will be connected to something that randomly changes how many/which LED's are lit and putting it on the front of the case behind some glass.
