    He was the swingingest cat on keys.

    Yeah, I was really sad when I heard about his dying. I never even owned that many of his albums, but...he's a legend, no question about that.

    yea dude what always blew my mind about Oscar was that he was Canadian! But man...he definitely could swing his ass off. His trio with Ray Brown was probably the best in history, next to Bill Evans', in my opinion. And I love his stuff with Clark Terry and Milt Jackson and all those dudes.

    Bill Evans, yes- he's definitely another of the largely-unsung heroes of the piano- jazz or otherwise.
