I know this is going to throw alot people for a loop but I say "Straight to Hell" from Hank 3 is THE Metal album of the year.
hmmm I dont know about an album but Bullet For My Valentine came out with a new song, 'Scream Aim Fire' and its orgasmic. haha
Hank III did do a pretty good job on Straight to Hell, but if I'm not mistaken, that didn't come out this year, haha. On the other hand, we've got Down III, and a Blotted Science album fighting for #1 imo.
Hm... Andacht by Lunar Aurora was my first thought but I think it officially came out December 2006. In that case probably Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde by Alcest.
Damn....got me on that one...you're right...'06 release...I guess I'll have to give '07 some more thought....Mustaine put out some music this year and while I do think anything he puts out rules...I'm not sure I'd vote it "Best of '07"
Hank's Straight to Hell is straight up country, dude. My vote for best metal album of 2007 is Dethklok's Dethalbum. They're a fictional bad from Cartoon Network's show Metalocalypse, but the metal rocked my brain for weeks.
