Hey all, What was the most meaningful gift you received this Christmas and why? I will put mine in later, I wanted to hear from some of you first.
my friend alex gave me some crystals which was very thoughtful, and my friend brock gave me a book the rest of my gifts weren't all that thoughtful a couple of my friends didn't get me anything, which kinda hurt cause i put alot of thought into their gifts
My brother got a picture frame and put pictures of us together growing up, including a picture taken on xmas eve, which he went and got printed. That was my favourite present He's such a sweetheart.
The most meaningful gift was receiving nothing and not accumulating any more pointless materialistic possessions.
I haven't gotten it yet, but my best friend is going to take me to see Philip Glass at the Art Institute in February.
Daniel's sister bought me a little stage set-up with cartoony Beatles dolls, with their respective instruments (and an alligator! haha). I think it definitely meant the most that she put so much thought into such an awesome present for me. Well, that, and a bracelet and a necklace my best friend gave me yesterday.
i'm not really a fan of the blatant holiday consumerism, though i must say that i made a killer cup of earl grey with the new tea kettle i got.
I got a super cool colorful purse that is something I would have bought for myself because it's just like me and it's big and comfy, I can carry my laptop in it and that's good and it has a lot of compartments, I like compartments because I can never find things inside my purse. Outside it has light yellow and light blue, two tones of pink and two tones of green Lotus Flowers and the inside has a lot of colorful stripes. It's perfect, my mom got it for me. I really like it.
My little brother got me a book on penguins for Hanukkah...that's about it. Everything else I got didn't have any character or much thought put into it. So I'm making him a painting as a late present.
Thanks for your replies. My most meaningful gift was a pocket watch, it was very big for a pocket watch but looks like one. The face has a train on it and opens up. The inside is a watch centered with two trains that go around in circles around the watch. It also plays "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" when you open it up. I really like pocket watches. My grandfather always carried one and I was always amazed by it when I was growing up. This present was sort of a way God gave me to remember my grandfather who died back in the 90's. He and grandma actually raised me while my parents had to both work during the days. Grandpa taught me to split wood, garden, survive in the wilderness, hunt, play baseball, and how to worship God.
A music box with chocolates inside, the music being the melodic line of a Christmas carol. Jingle Bells I think. My mother gave it to me. It was a little while before Christmas day, actually towards the end of November, but we can't keep a present waiting for that long in our family and we give it in advance!
