I can go on a long rant about how shitty America is for not even having a speck of culture... But nah. I think that the lack of culture, and all of what it entails, is why people feel the need to get away from everything here. Hell, America depresses the shit out of me. I'm trying to truly enjoy my time here... and I've met some amazing people. Yet there are amazing people everywhere... America is a great place to live comfortably... but that's not what I'm looking for. I'm gonna take it easy and enjoy my stay here... but when I'm done with college... I'm getting out and doubtfully ever coming back to live here.
I posted a thorough explanation for you on page one. Incedentally, anterograde amnesia is also a side effect of benzo abuse. www.breggin.com/bzbkexcerpt.htm
I could probably do fine in a bigger city in America. Anyhow, I'm just ranting. I don't really mind my situation right now because it could be a million times worse. There's just still a big cultural gap between me and America... and not being able to do anything about it is a tad frustrating.
Happens to the best of us. I've ended up lowering my standards with what I expect from the world, and only have faith in a few people. Seems to work better then looking for an ideal society.
Yep. That's pretty much what I figured over the years. The world is hopeless, but there's a whole lot of beauty in people as individuals. I expect nothing of anything! Learned to skank it easy, skank it slow... not worry, and just enjoy all them prettttty colours.
Extremely free. One of the best things about America is the ridiculous amount of personal freedom here. I really don't understand how come people bitch about personal freedom, out of all things, here. There are a lot of things that could be fixed about this country... but there's so much freedom here. You can pretty much do whatever you want within the privacy of your own house. Yeah, you can't really have a meth lab or pot plants growin'... which might suck a bit... But honestly... it's a better life than that of 99% of them human creatures outside gringolandia.
Very good answer. ...but I'm talking about people who aren't satisfied with what they have now, and want more and more and more.
Because you might loose the freedom that you already have. Some causes in gringolandia are worth fighting for, as I said. But one must realize that even Utopia failed.
