For the past 8-9 months, my dad has been vaporizing and cooking with marijuana to help cope with the chemotherapy treatment he underwent as a result of lymphoma that has spread throughout his cheeks and neck, and has started to thrive in his muscle tissue. He had tried a lot of other pain medications, but ultimately decided to go with something from the earth.. i consider him kind of a hippie, and he believes very much in herbal remedies. Anyway, the MJ has helped him tremendously. He doesn't use it any more than once a day, and is still fairly active, but doesn't complain as much anymore about the pain and depression. He also seems to have lost a lot of inhibitions and self-conscious thoughts he had about his face, since he had to have surgery on it to remove some of the cancer. He goes out more, and we have become a lot closer, since he seems to be more willing to talk about his thoughts and fears and is more open about his past. My question, though, is how many of you have used medical marijuana or even just reg on your pets, and what were the effects? I am very concerned about doing this, but my cat is suffering from nausea, and is getting quite old and has pain in a lot of places, since she was a stray only a few weeks ago. I don't want to hurt her with the marijuana, or make her even sicker. I've read up on this subject, but the information is very contradictory. Half of the people believe it could kill or make the cat go totally insane, and the other half say it relaxes and makes their cat more amiable. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I have seen how medicinal marijuana has affected my dad, and I am hoping maybe my cat could benefit from it as well, but I don't want to try anything before I get a lot of input. Thanks for reading this ridiculously long post.
to be honest i get my dog high once in a while and he absolutely loves it whereas my cat hates it. my friends has cats and they apparently like getting stoned. only mi perrito likes to get stoned...i dont get him high often though. only once every few months.
i think a very lil amount want hurt, but you hafta think about weight ratio of a person to a cat for a proper dosage.
all of my friends cat's seem to love gettin high. i'd say if u blow a hit at her mouth slowly, she will feel pretty good.
Gently blow one or two hits into her ear and see how she likes it. I don't have any experience giving it to sick cats, but I have given it to my cats, and I don't see why it couldn't help her. It's a very sweet idea! Try it, and I hope she feels better.
yes try it with your cat. i did it with my dog once, but instead of blowing smoke at your cat like people are saying, just simply sprinkle some into your cat's cat food. if you lace it properly your cat wont even notice the difference. better yet, stuff some inside your cat's wet food, like the canned tuna or chicken stuff. that would be easier to hide. my dog quite enjoys it, although she usually falls asleep pretty quickly. try it. and no your cat won't die from marijuana, nothing, including animals ever has.
weedwhacker you dumbass.... you cant just eat pot and get high... ive ate a whole quarter before all i got was a stomach ache... you have to cook the weed in butter or an oil and strain the thc out to get high from ingesting.... and about your cat... ide try it... most animals dont rlly like being high but your cat might if it takes pain away... heres what you should do... place your cat inside a box... put a top on the box i use that clear food wrap stuff... place a tube for the cat to breathe from.... and smoke yourself but when you exhale blow the smoke through the tube into the box... its best way to get an animal stoned... and it cant make the cat worse pot never killed anybody only blow the cat about 4 or 5 hits to...
One time I was smoking chronic and blew a huge cloud of smoke in the neighbor's cat's face. The cat let out a long meeooowww and began to purr and just lay there for a while. It was classic. lol
I read an article in the Nov. or Dec. 2007 issue of High Times about getting your pet stoned. It basically said it wasn't a good idea but if you're going to do it, do it in low doses.
I get my two cats baked occasionally. It seems to have helped them one of my cats went from completely hostile to calm and friendly, and the other is just a lovable fatass. Its best to just blow smoke in their face and they will either sit there and enjoy it or move if they dont like it.
A while ago i was living at my mates house while his mum was away, and his sisters boyfriend gave the dog a gram in some food.....the dog slept for three days straight. Luckily the dog woke up about an hour before his mum got home and the dog went straight for his bowl and ate a kilo of dog food haha i reckon eating weed raw would have to have some effect on some pets, cause i very much doubt that the weed didnt cause that.
yeah... i was making some cannabutter one weekend in my house while my parents were gone and afterwards i just dumped the stewed clippings in my backyard, thinking that my dogs wouldnt touch them. but i was so wrong... they ate about half of it (it was about 2 ounces of clippings) and my little dog (who probably ate most of it the little fucker) slept for about 4 days straight and only got up to shit on my floor... i had to give it water to drink and everything... i tried picking it up, and it was so limp i thought it was dead. my other dog (an irish setter) ate the other half. but there was still a bit left over. he tripped so hard. whenever you put anything near his face he would like... shake his head for about 5 minutes... he was sooo gone. there was probably about a half-ounce of clippings left after they were through with it and they both found it and ate it like a week later. they were out of it for about 2 days that time. i guess they liked it
I have a cat with OCD(self mutilation feline hypersesthia), and I lived with a special needs cat (dry birth. I didn't think he was actually going to live) and when I grew, I'd give them a full set of (upper- close to the buds) fan leaves each, and they'd chow down, and it'd relax them to no end. The OCD cat'd quit having spasms, and the special needs cat developed the feline version of couchlock, which he was about 22 pounds and thought he was a shoulder-cat. Letting them have those did a lot to help the cats, and I can tell you it didn't hurt them a bit. Bud, I don't know about giving them, but if you do, just give them a small J's worth mixed in with some good food.
Definitely don't blow it in the cats face, try the ear while rubbing it. It works. Also my small dog ate about an 1/4 of my stash once, went straight for grass and threw it back up. Like he realized he fucked up.
Our cat loves to get a buzz. You dont need to put a cat in a box or nothin, that seems kinda abusive. If you need to force the cat then its just no good. Just the fact that your forcing the cat should tell you the cat dont like it. Me and my wife smoke fairly constantly and we blow our hits rite to our cat. Shes usualy in the room with us but sometimes when shes not, she'l come in when she hears the tap of a bowl being cleaned out or the sound of a lighter bein fliked. She knows its Herb because we dont smoke tobaco. She likes the Herb and shel even crawl up on my wifes lap when we light up so shes closer to the smoke and more accesable to us for smoke blowin purposes. Her name is Smoke Cloud. I gues some pets like it and some dont. I think it all depends on how they were introduced to it. I dont think theyl like it if ya grabem and shotgunnem against theyr will or puttem inna box or something like that. Just try blowin smoke in theyr faces and see if they like it. I think theyr more likley to like it if you just blow it in theyr faces than if ya force it onnem. By the way.Just blowin smoke on your pets getsem just as stoned as you are. This has something to do with theyr brain size to theyr body weight ratio. Ya dont have to do more than blow the smoke in theyr direction and let it drift over to'm.
