How do you avoid getting ripped off by unfamiliar dealers without seeming like a total dick? I have been ripped off before, but I'm not one for drama so I didn't bring it up. At the same time, I've been given much more than my money's worth, but from people who know and like me. I'm thinking about buying a scale but would I look like a moron if I pulled up to the agreed upon location and proceeded to call the guy out on his dishonesty?
no. people do it all the time. If he tells you that's its 50 an 1/8th, you should be able to verify it. If he bitches a fit, let him go and never call him again.
He should weigh it in front of you if you don't know him well and you're getting a decent amount. I avoid getting ripped off by not dealing with shady people.
If Im not familiar with the dealer I will just buy grams and half grams, if he gives good counts then Ill start spending more.
Dude at my school tried to chop me. He said "wait here I'll be back" and he went upstairs so I followed. He said "No I said wait here" and I said fuck that im out of here. I've had people bring me shit they claim to be 5grams which is 4 grams. Calling them on it doesen't always work. If they get pissed I tell them to put up or shut up and weigh it in front of me. If they get pissed off I leave. Simple as that.
The most I have shorted someone is like .2 on an 8th of danks. he didnt say anything to me but he told my friend he didnt like me. I dont give a fuck about him, so watever... but ya throw it on YOUR scale in front of them and then say oh maybe its off lets check it on yours... Then dont pay if they wont show the sack to weigh up on their scale.
I think that if you've been picking up off someone for a while and have a good relationship going it is kinda disrespectful to ask, I would only do it if I don't know them well. Just find hookups through your friends, so you know you can trust them.
Well I'll probably just keep a quick digital scale in my car and say 'hey i'm gonna double check this dude', or some similar laid back remark so as to avoid any anger. If he tries to get pissed I'll just tell him that someone recently tried to rip me off, so it's my new personal rule to check all masses. It's hard NOT to deal with shady people in my area, honestly I don't know a single dealer in my area who I would trust enough to not rip me off. I only have one or two people who are honest with their sales. Thankfully I'm not a big spender on my weed (probably averaging around $10-20 a week, if that) so when someone does get away with being a cheapskate, they don't hurt me much. Lately I have been buying an eighth every couple of weeks, which is usually about $25-40. But the last time I was with a friend and he bought a twenty from this one 'gangsta' guy I know, and he got majorly ripped off, the thing was about less than a gram of some middies. The best thing I can do is learn a lesson from that guy's misfortune...
I've never really bought anything over a gram from someone I didn't trust. My first real dealer was a guy I played tennis with since I was a kid. All his friends sold too, and they're all good guys. So I met more and more dealers, and I don't think any have ever short changed me.
bring a friend who wont ever buy from him to call the guy out. its not really acceptable to get ripped off even if u dont know the guy. u can always just buy from friends.
You just have to know them well enough that they know that if they rip you there ganna loose your bussniess and a lot more money in the future. I had a girl ive been buying from for a year give me like 3.1 on a cut. I weighed it after she had left. I waited until the next time i was buying from her, and just mentioned it as though it hadent crossed my mind that she had done it intentially. She felt bad and gave me an extra .75 of some bomb dro.
I personally can read a person like a book within a few minutes of seeing and listening to them... im a people watcher so i notice things... and i've dealt with a lot of bags in my life and can just tell if its right or not
well the first step is knowing what good weed looks/smells like, so you know if it's good or not. then all you need to do is buy a pocket scale and weigh it before you buy it. also, be careful how you go about buying it. don't get in a car with shady people who you don't know; don't meet anyone in dark alley ways; be careful of being set up and jumped; etc. usually i carry my money in my shoe if i'm going to a new dealer. but once i find i dealer that i'm happy with there's no need for it.
It's a really tricky situation. Honestly, I don't see the point in weighing it in front of the dealer. If it's short, it's just going to be really awkward for both of you, and if it's a full sack, you are going to feel like an idiot. I would just buy an eighth from your guy, weigh it, and if it's short, call him out on it next time or just don't call him back.
i have wanted to get an analog scale, just whip that out of my pocket, add some gram weights, and wait for it to balance. dont know about all of you, but i dont like when someone tries to sell me herb that is already ground up, i prefer to grind it myself.
why would you feel like an idiot? you're making sure you're getting what you're paying for. and why would you wait until after you buy something to find out that you got robbed? THEN you would feel like an idiot for not weighing it out first. that's retarded.
