Ok, this is from my sociology class...It just really made me consider alot of things, and I was just wondering what you guys would think...I know nobody likes long posts, but bare with me here...

Once upon a time there was a woman named Abigail who was in love with a man name Gregory. Gregory lived on the shore of a river. The river which seperated the two lovers was teeming with man eating aligators. Abigail wanted to cross the river to be with Gregory. Unfortunatly, the bridge had been washed out. So she went to ask Sinbad, a riverboat captain, to take her across. He said he would be glad to if she would consent to go to bed with him preceeding the voyage. She promptly refused and went to her mother to exaplin her plight. Mother did not want to get involved at all in the situation. Abigail felt her only alternative now was to except Sinbad's terms. Sinbad filfilled his promis to Abigail and delivered her into the arms of Gregory.

When She told Gregory about her amourous escapade in order to cross the river, he cast her aside with distain. Heartsick and dejected Abigail turned to Slug with her tail of woe. Slug feeling compassion for her, sought out Gregory and beat him brutally. Abigail was overjoyed at the sight of Gregory getting his due. As the sun sets on the horizon we hear Abigail laughing at Gregory.

Now...Rank in order the 5 characters in the above story from the most offensive to the least offensive. Put the character you find most reprehensible first on the list and so one with the fifth being the least objectional...

    Hmm this is hard.

    1. Abigail
    2. Sinbad
    3. Slug
    4. Mother
    5. Gregory

Abigail and Sinbad are probably equal 1. Mother and Gregory are equal 5.

    Cool thread[IMG]

1)Sinbad - for only helping her if she would sleep with him
    2)Abigail - for cheating
3)Slug - knew that she had cheated but fought for her anyway, I'm guessing she promised him sex too
    4)mother - she should've helped
5)Gregory - didn't really find anything wrong with this guy, I've been in his position before

    1. Gregory- was a bastard!

    2. Slug used violence as revenge but his motive was pure-ish. But violence is never the answer so I put him next-to-most-objectionable.

    3. Sinbad, he was just being a typical businessman fulfilling his own needs and lusts.

    4. Mother... get off your ass and do something!!

    5. Abigail, she just wanted to get to her lover at any cost...I don't consider her cheating, she was using sex as currency to pay the price to get to her man.

are you saying you wouldnt do the same if if your man slept with some woman to cross a river which most likely had other ways to cross it?

    1. Sinbad--For being a sexist man-whore

    2. Abigail--For being a dumbass and not thinking of another way to cross

    3. Mother--For being an apathetic bitch

    4. Slug--for beating up an innocent person

    5. Gregory--He wasn't really offensive in my opinion, although I don't like his name...

Haha, I'd rather not see them, so then I guess I have to not tell you another way. But i assume that there was more than just one fucking way to cross that river, she shoudln't have been so impatient.

    1. Gregory - didn't deserve Abigail in the first place, asshole

    2. Sinbad - for taking advantage of a person in distress

    3. Slug - for beating another person up like that was going to help

    4. Mother - for being indifferent to her daughter's plight

    5. Abigail - poor misguided girl who should have known better

    I say,

1)Abigail- for excepting Sinbads offer and laughing at Gregory as he got the fuck beat out of him...
2)Slug- For using Violence where it is not needed and where it certainly does not concern him...
3)Sinbad- He's a pig...but in truth I don't think he's THAT bad because he did not force her to do anything. He just made the offer, it was her who excepted...but still he's a dick for taking advantage of her bad situation...
4)Gregory- for not trying to cross the river himself...and then for dumping Abigail...because I mean when you think about it she fucked someone she really didn't want to just to get to him, that's a pretty big self sacrifice...and he was not very empathetic...
    5) Mother- Should have supported her daughter in her time of need...

yep alex you took the words right out of my head
ha i remember this at school
but any way i agree with everything you said
i found abigail the worst for laughing and i didn't find sinbad that bad because i mean really he's a lonly sailor and all he wanted was a little action but he did take advantage of abigail slug was pretty bad and so was gregory i mean if my man slept with a woman he didnt want to just to get to me i'd be flattered and the mom didnt really do anything good or bad

1-Sinbad, I put first on my first thought, however reading others' views, I think I would lower him to 2

2-Abigail, second because she laughed while her love was being beaten, despite what had happened between them. Even when you and your love are not together anymore, there is still love or feeling sthere for a little while
3-Slug, I feel that slug didnt really have an opened mind about things. Possibly was swayed by Abigails story so much, he felt he needed to do something for her. I dont think he truly understood every side to the story
4-mother, she should have supported Abigail..
5-Gregory, I put last, because he was just heartbroken that Abigail would sleep with another man. Granted, it was a self sacrifice, an dI think that he dumped her in the most heated, passionate time. Give it a little time, and all will ammend

    SoulRebel:

I guess I was assuming there was no other way to cross the river... I'll admit I didn't go back to the original post to re-read it though......

    Was a fun little story!
