Use google man. And no you're not going to trip off of your neighboors horseshit mushrooms. In short, you'll have to buy them from someone. Good luck.

Probably not in Pennsylvania. I think the only worthwhile active species that grows in PA is Paneoulus caerulipes (which I undoubtedly misspelled); some people call them "blue foots." Anyway, they are pretty hard to find and grow on wood, so don't get your hopes up. PA isn't the right climate for P. cubensis.

Well, here is a useful list of the various species that grow in each state: http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area

Here are the active species it lists as growing in Pennsylvania and Ohio:

    Ohio
    Gymnopilus aeruginosus
    Gymnopilus junonius
    Gymnopilus luteofolius
    Panaeolus subbalteatus
    Psilocybe caerulipes
    Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata

    Pennsylvania
    Gymnopilus aeruginosus
    Gymnopilus junonius
    Panaeolus subbalteatus
    Psilocybe caerulipes
    Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata

All of these grow on wood. If your friend told you that he picked some off of shit, then he probably didn't want to give away his connection. There aren't any that grow on dung in this region that I am aware of, and the ones that grow on wood are more resistant to cold.

Furthermore, Pan. Subbalteatus is also worthwhile. The others in the list are indeed active, but I'm not aware if they have high levels of psilocybin, psilocin, or undesirable chemicals that cause nausea.

Go to Avondale, PA during the right season. Beyond that, I never said anything  good luck
