away from trouble, the streets, drugs, and violence.

If you are a teenager, what would it take keep you at home and busy and happy?

There needs to be a balance between home and socializing. Seriously, I wouldn't keep my teenager cooped up in the house. A person needs to spread her wings... and get high. :)

And yeah, I would keep some drugs in the house just in case they wanted to get high with me for a change. :D

DO NOT lock em in... thats the worse thing you can do, when someone sheltered gets out, hell breaks loose.

NOTHING should keep a teen at home "busy and happy"... thats just not how it works. The goal is to grow into a responsible adult, the best way to do this is give the *true* information about (insert anything/everything here) and why.

"Don't do drugs" doesn't mean anything.

Explaining the side effects, legal aspects, life path aspects, group of friend aspects, and what the true cause and effect is works... given this strategy from the beginning its easier for the kid to listen... Most teens will piss and moan, but words do stick when the time comes.

Inform, don't shield... there is no responsibility in ignorance.

    :)

This comes from personal experience of an unguided and locked in childhood, coupled with an awareness of others... even if I didn't interpret things properly at the time, it came together later. Coulda came together right there with proper guidance.

yeah, there's no real way to ensure all will go well. al lthe raising you're going to do is likely already done, anyway. they're gonna do what they want, and there's really no stopping them.

    I totally agree.

Hopefully, because for most information goes through one ear and comes out the other. They tune you out.

Today's teenagers don't respond well to information. They rather listen to mindless rappers and buy useless things.

not to mention their short attention spans.
