The US has a new law in the works taxing strippers. It's a tip tax because they get tips. Should they tax strippers? What's your opinion? Remember strippers are male and female.

They already pay income tax for their tips(just like every other cash tip business person), i think the tax you are speaking of has nothing to do with tips. It is called the SIN tax and passed recently(in Texas). It is a $5 per head charge to all who enter a strip club establishment and a few other adult orientated establishments. The tax will go to victims and relief of sexual assault and such things. It is extremly offensive that such a tas be related with stripclubs, it is so random. It incinuates that strip clubs are responsible for sex crimes, which simply isn't the case.

right on. it's discrimination of those of us who are free within our sexuality, and who actually enjoy our sexuality. i'm not a stripper, but i will probably end up running (and contributing to) an erotic video site... and it's all the same principle. it's rediculous to tax the "vices" like tobacco and alcohol in the outrageous ways that the government does... and now they're adding sex to the bad list. good healthy OPEN sexuality and sexual attitudes are a far cry from sex crimes, and i think the conservative government is working very hard to inextricably link them in most people's minds.
