So most of us know Maynard's work, what do you think of his latest project, Puscifer?

I think it takes some getting used to but I do like it at times theres one song I really am in love with but I dont know what it is called.

I still think Tool is his best band so far.

Not a bad project. I think Maynard is just too much of a genius for one band. He's juggling Tool, APC, Puscifer, his vinyard in AZ, his art and whatever else is going through that awesome brain of his.
But i agree with you... Tool is the shit!

I think Maynard's the type of artist who will always seek the margins. Tool is incredible, but probably became too big/mainstream for his sensibilities. Perfect Circle was a bit more pop, which debunks my theory. He's looking for his vision, which when he finds it musically will probably be so inaccessible it will have no market. I'd love to figure him out, but do we ever figure out the great ones?

My favorite song is Indigo Children. That song is just fucking awesome.

THe rest of the album is so-so, some songs I really dig but others are just kinda weird, even for me.. but I love Maynard and I'm glad he released his solo efforts, I was sooo looking forward to the Tapeworm project with Trent Reznor that never materialized. But Puscifer just about made up for that disappointment.
