So it was fucking 65 degrees yesterday and now there's so much fucking snow that we're likely trapped in the goddamned house all day if not all weekend. I have NO WAY to get to work tomorrow, the assholes in this area don't bother cleaning off our roads, so we're stuck. I HATE THIS TOWN AND THIS NEIGHBORHOOD SO MUCH. But not as much as I hate feeling trapped...
Oh I have been trying to. I have made major life changes and still doing so but what I have learned is most people do not wish to so anything that disrupts what they do. They will preach and wish but wont give up anything for it.
Haha, funny thing is, when I posted this morning, it was blowing like crazy and it looked a lot worse out than it really is...it heated up a little outside and the roads melted. But you people who make fun of us who don't get snow often don't have any idea how bad it is. If you get snow a lot, your people are prepared for it, and it's no problem getting out and about. But here, when it snows, people just hole themselves up and having no car and a tiny fridge makes it impossible to not need to get out on an almost daily basis. Laugh all you want, but it really sucks feeling trapped. Last year we had a pretty bad snow (up to my knees by mid-morning and it continued all day and the day after) and because no one wanted to drive in the mess, we had to walk in knee-deep snow to town so we could eat (we had no fridge at all this time last year). PS- Texas is a big state, where I live is completely different than the majority of Texas (really, I think we should join Oklahoma, lol). I'm sure someone down South probably would have a way worse reaction than me to snow. Some of them have never even seen it before.
True. When you're not set up to deal with winter weather a little snow can cripple a state. When you don't normally have to deal with snowfall why earmark state and local budgets maintaining equipment and paying people to operate it--- or stockpiling sand and salt to deal with it? We've had two storms and Connecticut is already saying we're close to overspending snow removal budgets... and they did such SHITTY jobs in some towns! I see the table is being set for supplemental property tax bills next summer... greedy bastards. The fucking political games being played are insulting at best.
It's just the reverse here, we've had 31 inches of snow over the last two weeks but we're expecting 50 F temperatures and rain tomorrow hotwater
we've already have more snow by 7 or 8 inches than we did last winter as a whole. and winter hasn't even started yet. nuts and the city does a terrible job clearing the snow. they fine people for not shoveling sidewalks, but yet, you look at a lot of the citys property and none of it is cleared, forcing people to walk in the streets. in the greater boston area, i have heard of 4 people being hit and killed by a vehicle because they had to walk in the streets
In addition to the 4 people killed in massachusetts by snowplows, there was 1 person killed here in New Hampshire, 1 killed in Rhode Island, and 1 pedestrian killed in Maine It's white gold for the drivers, but at what cost? h
It flurried once here so far. Frosted a couple times.......but thats about it. I miss the Colorado winters Though I do think it will be a white Christmas this year, but there won't be any percipitation.
