As far as I can remember, I've always dreamt in full colors. Think photo-realistic. I just assumed it was the same for everyone else. The normal way to dream, y'know. However, a while ago, me and my friends were having a conversation on dreams and I was surprised to learn that every single one of them dreamed exclusively in black and white. Sorry if this sounds ignorant, but I have a few questions: Do most people dream in black and white? What can cause someone to dream in full colors? Does dreaming in full colors have any particular signification?
I think that everyone dreams different. its strange to think about. ever wonder of color blind people can see colors in their dreams? i dream in color. but there are certain things about my dreams that i think are different. for instance, when im outside in a dream the sky is always dark but everything is still lit up. and when i fly in my dreams, its like im dog-paddling in a swimming pool, only it makes me fly. i once had a conversation about this with a number of people and was surprised to find that someone else flies like that in their dreams as well. most people i talked to said they fly like superman though how do you fly in your dreams? a little off topic, woops!
You might be right about everyone dreaming differently. Hell, perhaps some people dream alternatively in b&w AND color! Or even both in the same dream! I'd be interested to know... Oh, and when I dream of flying, I just kind of hover around. It doesn't require any particular movement except my own will. Guess my lazyness is showing even in my dreams!
With me, flying in dreams is just something natural. Natural for me to do and natural for the other people around me, in my dream, to see me doing. Lol.
well like midnight, the world(s) in my dreams are invariably just as total experience in every aspect as the one we've awaike in. and i too, always thought, that vagueness, lack of color, lack of any sensory input other perhapse then outright pain, was all just something hollywood made up as a way to symboize someone in a story dreaming. i still find it difficult to believe anyone doesn't have total experience of more or less random, 'what if scenarios', (and or, massively 'multiplayer' nontangable/spirit/psionic 'internet' connection) during rapid eye movement sleep, and just has something in the history of their mental development that makes them remember, when they are able to remember their dream experiences at all, in this seemingly cleche' like distorted way. =^^= .../\...
