Is Marijuana harmful with other medications?!?!

I am on several anxiety and depression medications, right now I got one of them increasing a dosage tomorrow which has me a little concerned if marijuana is dangerous with any prescription medications?

 

All of them. Causes instant OD.


I heard tell that pot causes antidepressants to not work as advertised. I am not a doctor though.

 

thc interacts with nothing that i know of, but it certainly might interact negatively with something. i just wouldnt know.

but i do know that being on such medications, and having them increased and such, may indicate that you aren't feeling quite at ease internally, and that substance use may further complicate any issues. such ideas may be worth considering.

wouldnt stop me from smoking most likely, but it would definitely be a healthy choice for you to ponder.

 

Weed doesn't interact with anything chemically. You can't overdose if you smoke on medicine.
THC is a psycoactive drug, even with 'body highs,' so it is possible to change how to ax/depr pills are working. I'm on some too, and I smoke fairly often, and I feel fucking fantastic.

Just watch yourself, pay attention to how things are going.

 

Yeah that's what I figured. I would assume if a medication is dangerous to use with THC it would say under it's directions, much like alcohol.

 

My friend is on a heavy dose of anti-depressants and he says his doctor discourages smoking pot while on them because it can cause the medications to not work to their full extent...

 

No it wouldn't because alcohol is legal to consume and marijuana isn't. They wouldn't be telling people medication is bad when used with weed because they expect people to not smoke.

 

No... it will not be harmful.

The only thing you should consider is the psychological effect it may cause. I'd say give it a try and see if the smoking is bringing you down.

Marijuana can cure or intensify depression... depending on the person.

Ahh man, I haven't had PBR in a while, I've been too busy drinking good beer. I miss that great PBR taste!

 

pbr is among my favorite cheap beers, but strohs definitely beats it, and sometimes even genessee. though sometimes i'll drink other, even cheaper beers, if i'm really trying to save money....every once in a while a 40 of malt liquor is in order, too. but only once in a while. i'm poor after all. but i saw my bank statement today and so no more ommegang and fantome and anchor christmas ale and other goodies for me till after the holiday....

one of the most desired presents i asked for for christmas (my parents always make me give them ideas) was a couple bottles of my favorite saison beer, since i can rarely afford it.

tonight i ate dinner with my folks though and got to wash it down with a bottle of sierra nevada celebration ale

 

Yeah man. I've just promised myself to drink good beer for the last month. I've been mostly drinking whiskey though... it's whiskey weather.

I had a nice Negra Modeno at my parents' yesterday.

 

did you misspell negra modelo or is it a beer i just haven't heard of before? cause negra modelo is the only genuinely good mexican beer i've had to date...hate tecate, corona, and pacifico except when i'm in really hot tropical type weather and its ice cold....

my dad says dos equis amber or whatever is good, but i've not tried it. course he likes mexican beer on occasion anyway, even though he usually has better stuff.

but yeah, negra modelo is pretty awesome in my opinion, and its what i usually get if i'm in a mexican restaraunt (but i hate most mexican restaraunts that aren't dumps or hole in the wall places nobody goes to, i dont know why but its just always better food at the shittier restaraunts)

if negra modeno is something else i'm curious how it is, where it comes from, and what style beer it is

i really wish they sold yeungling in my state. i'm just in ohio, but they dont sell it here! and its brewed just one state east of our border, in PA! they sell it soooo many other places. i just tried it this summer in key west and fell in love....its priced about like high life and pbr and stuff, but its way better. i could see it easily going for 7 bucks a sixpack, but its very reasonably priced. not the cheapest or strongest cheap beer, but easily the best tasting. if i could get it here it would be my bread and butter

I was never that big of a fan of Yeungling... I guess that I opt for the PBR when it comes to choosing between them... save some money, buy more PBR.

 

i fucking hate tecate with a passion....

but i could drink it if it was a very, very warm day in the middle of the afternoon and it was ice cold...but its still pretty bad in my book. but then it all boils down to personal taste

 

a long long time ago i was being treated for "ADD" & i was being criminally overmedicated with ritalin, wellbutrin, effexor, mogadon EVERY day...the doctor told me weed was the only safe thing i could do. he told me weed had no contraindications with any pharmaceutical he knew of.

later once i re-embraced meditating and got back to following my bliss in life i used weed to get me off all those nasty meds and has served me well ever since. i have not needed meds since! weed and the occasional lsd trip is all i need.

ps-avoid alcohol like the plague.

Doctors love to blindly prescribe medications to their patients; They treat the symptoms, rather than the cause, so they write up as many prescriptions as they possibly can.

So many doctors are corrupt.

I wouldn't say all are, but most. and Mara you were only treated for ADD? and your doctor said weed had no effect on any kind of prescription drug?

 

I dated a guy who was on every anti depressant imaginable, he ended up being a total stoner but never had any bad effects.
BTW, why are you on those meds? Do you chose to? Let your mind be free...
