Let's have a look at my boyfriend. I've known him for three years and I've noticed something a little odd about him. He can predict exactly what will happen in a given situation. Even if the outcome makes no logical sense that it WOULD happen, he just knows it will happen. He's never been wrong about his predictions either. It's like what he says about the future is written in concrete. And its not like he can change what will happen so it'll go along with what he said. I've talked to two of his friends, one he had since middle school, and the other, since high school. They both said the same thing. They notice that he has this odd ability to know what's going to happen. One of his friends is a pagan and is sensative to the spiritual world. She says he really has a potential to be psychic. My cousin who is a Druid says he has a very different energy about him and is highly empathetic.
Funny thing is, he does not believe in spirits, spells, psychics, sensing things, or magic. He is based in logic, fact, and science. So whenever anyone mentions that to him, he laughs it off. But the more I know him, the more I see odd things like this occuring.
Now I just found out that his biological father, who he only knew a few years before he passed recently, was a famous psychic. My boyfriend always told me that when he visited his dad, he'd talk about energies and that he sounded like my cousin, the Druid. But after finding this out, I'm starting to believe that my boyfriend has some of his psychic abilities, even though he denies it. Could this be true or am I and his friends making things up in our heads?

Could this be true, you ask? Does somebody need to draw you a picture? LOL ;)

Ummm, yeah, Gaki, I would say your boyfriend is very likely a psychic. But if he doesn't believe it or doesn't want to be one, that's his choice, and they ain't nuthin nobody can do about it. Still, he might change his mind about it someday, you just don't never know...

That sounds exactly like me when I was an athiest.

I don't predict things like he does, instead, I'll most likely know the various different outcomes of a situation, and 99% of the time one of them is right.

I also have a verrrrrrrrrrry powerful will. I am able to materialize things I want in the "after-life" in this life. That alone is a very powerful ability.

    Psychic "gene" being passed down?
    Yes, I believe it is.
Left handed people are more likely to be psychic.
I believe it has to do with Left/Right brain function.
Many famous psychics are left handed.

I believe that logically thee is only so much that can happen (sad but true). A person with a very vivid/detailed memory like myself that goes back to when he/she was a baby can very easily put it together that history repeats itself and that all humans are about 99.9999 fuckin percent exactly the same. It is as if we are just playing the different positions of life like machines who are unaware of their own mechanical existence. Very few people have any free will which exceeds the normal, because we are taught to be aware of only what everyone else is aware of so everyone lives in the same basic realm. By using mathematical probabilities and modeling out scenarios of the past in my mind, I am able to predict what will happen to the average carbon copied drone. My mother once told me "if you have some sort of mystical powers you should focus them on MY situation." This is the problem. When people have a hint of selfishness and greed in them (which almost everyone has just a little bit) it completely prohibits them from seeing the big picture and keeps their brain functioning at minimal animalistic levels. Most people refuse to believe this or lie and say they understand but continue to lead lives of pride or selfishness and never realize what is going on around them. Of course, this is just what I think so no need for anyone to get angry and argue.

I was left-handed as a child, but my mother was told by her doctor that it's healthier to be right-handed, so now I use my right hand.

The funny thing is; I only use my left hand to type, and with only use my index and pointer fingers. I have been typing like this since I was 13, and can reach 50 WPM.

My mother used to tell me that she communicated with ghosts, and told me that she saw them quite often, and even thought of herself as a witch... I always thought that she might be diluted... I hate talking bad about my mom, but that's as honest as I can put it.

My mind somewhat changed when I experienced something paranormal... and I still try to rationalize what had occurred to me, even to this day, but it's hard to. My mother died when I was 12. On the same day that my mother died, at night, I saw my mother in the room next to mine (I was in the bedroom, and to this day I question if I was sleeping, but think otherwise because it was as real as anything when you're fully conscious). I saw my mother as a typical see-through avatar, with a white-bluish tinge, wearing her hospital gown and having her hair messy (her hair was like this when she was in the hospital). She was looking for something, and then disappeared.

I don't know what to make of it.

I always had a good sense of what others were thinking and feeling, and a good ability of accurately judging people for whether or not they are good hearted, but that's about it.

I'm done with my rant, now.

Gaki, how old is your boyfriend? Beliefs sometimes change as we get older. It may take him awhile to accept his abilities. Don't push the subject. It's best left alone.

As far as the gene pool swimming with psychics, my mother believed in spirits. I don't know if she saw them or what, but she believed. I've been a real believer since 16, and I've spoken to them, seen them, heard them, felt them, communicated with them.... the whole nine yards.

My nephew could do the same as I can when he was younger. I don't know if he does now or not. He hasn't mentioned it lately, and since he is touchy about the subject, I don't ask. I only tell him what I see, feel, etc. so that he feels encouraged.

I truly believe it's part nature and part nurture.

You have seen them? I'm very interested in this, and I'd appreciate it if you talked more about this. Give details =D

Yes, I've seen them. It's strange.... I had one person show up as a black shadowy figure. That was the first one I saw. Very scary, actually. But I knew who the person was, so it calmed me a bit.

Usually, they will show up for only a split second as they were in life. They look the same as they did, and usually they are walking or moving, and then they disappear. I have a black cat that roams my house who comes and goes as he pleases. My cat will sometimes his for no apparent reason and guard his food dish... lol. Apparently, he sees the cat too and doesn't like it.

Earlier today, I saw someone standing here, where I'm sitting now, as I came in from the shower. I didn't get to see much of this apparition, but she was in white. (Perhaps it's the girl I've had hanging around my house for a few years that I've seen a couple of times.)

I really don't know how to explain it any better than that... there are also the cobwebby or smoke-like things I see. And twice, I've seen little balls of light.

My best friend (ex girlfriend), her mother, and nearly everyone else on her mother's father's side of the family has a strong connection to dead spirits.

I've always felt a strong connection to my God and I felt that I could talk to him even from a young age (like 10-ish).

When I met the girl who is now my best friend one day she was wicked pissed at her mom and I could feel her anger like a pressure on my eardrums, only it was changing like I've imagined turbulence would. Her mom asked me to leave the room so she could talk to her and the pressure went away when I was out of the room, when I came back into the room the pressure returned just not as intense. I almost forgot that at one point I told her my ears were hurting and it must have distracted her from her anger or something because the pressure had momentarily ceased.

More recently I discovered I could communicate with a 'spirit guide' or more accurately my great grandmother Alexina who even before I knew who she was or her real name had told me I could call her Ally. What I was getting to was that I have found that I can ask both of these people that I can communicate with questions and that the answers are always right.

I found out from my mom that she use to think she could talk to her God as a child and I found out from my grandfather (her father) that his mother talked to him after her death.

I feel like I've hijacked your thread... but I do think that this "gene" can be passed down.

I'm not really all that sure about a pyschic gene, I think its a possibility but I'm a bit wary.

My identical twin sister is an empath, we haven't heard a thing really about anyone in our family having any sorts of psychic gifts at all. And despite having the exact same DNA I consider myself to be about as psychic as a ham sandwich...then again I have to know, does having spirit guides count? Because I do have some, and if it does count then I guess this just makes the case for a psychic gene more likely.

But I have noticed a connection in these things tending to run in families, so it's all very likely.

The reason I left gene in quotes was because I'm not so sure a gene exists but I have seen proof of the connection in families.

    Only some spirit guides?
I thought you said you had like 40. xP

I had pushed the connection to my spirit guide Ally and the God figure away for so long that I find it hard to listen now and I've only been open to her for about a month now. Even so, she has told me that everyone has one, just some find it easier to listen for a reason she couldn't or wouldn't tell me. Maybe this "gene" helps people develop the skill of listening.

I had to look up the word empath. I suppose being one could explain why I am feeling emotions.

Do you think that spirituality or religious belief have anything to do with it? I think it's a possibility.... this is why I say nurture also plays a factor. It's said that we all have the ability to be psychic as children. When the skull is still seperated the pineal gland is constantly bathed in oxygen-rich blood. The pineal gland is said to be considered the "third eye" in mysticism. As the skull fuses together, the blood lacks the oxygen it once had, which can send the gland into dormancy if the child isn't actively using it for its psychic abilities.

Sometimes, psychic ability doesn't show up until puberty because the gland is once again stimulated by the changing body.

But, as I was saying, belief has a lot to do with it. If you are open to seeing things/feeling things, etc. And you believe the dead are actually still alive and can communicate with us, then you will be more likely to experience such things.

Mine never started until I was about 16, and my grandfather passed away. He was the first person who was very close to me that I lost, and I think that kind of "jolted" me into some mediumship abilities. (I've always been empathic, more with animals when I was little than people though.) Whne my mother passed when I was 21, I really began mediumship (it was overwhelming for awhile), empathic readings (I felt my mother die), I picked up the tarot, which opened me up more, and recently I began picture readings. Again, this is a form of nurturing my abilities and practicing.

Everyone has a spirit guide or two, but not everyone believes in them. Still, everyone experiences things such as deja vu or that instinctive tugging from time to time. This is your spirit guide.
