I have yet to find anyone, Christian or otherwise, that can come up with any point in the Bible that says that it is a sin to masturbate.

The only thing that comes anywhere close to it it is the story of Onan, and that refers to his duty under Hebrew law of having to father a son with his brother's wife if his brother should die without issue. However, although he had sex with her, he let his 'seed fall on barren ground' - that is to say, that he used the Withdrawal Method of contraception (which is the only form of contraception approved of by the Catholic Church, I might add), and has absolutely NOTHING to do with masturbation.

So, any Christians who feel that they have sinned by masturbating, try challenging their priest / vicar, or whatever to explain exactly why it is considered a sin & get them to show them the exact place in the Bible where it says so.

 

Pineman, has a great point, i would like any cristians, to find a part of the bible that says masturbating is a sin. I've heard they shout it out in church. Stupid. I'm not a religious person but i'd like to know how putting pressure on people helps them believe in God. And honeslty, do you really think that the priest, vicar etc has never masturbated in thier entite life?

One thing that is really mind boggling is not so much how often you masturbate, but how much semen you have produced in your life since you came into sexual maturity & first discovered masturbation, and to a lesser extent, later in life, actual sex.

The average ejaculation is about 10 - 20ml - so lets call it 15ml.

The average daily masturbations is about 1 -2, so let's say 1½ times.

There are 365¼ days in a year (including Leap Years).

This makes 5478.75ml per year - almost 5½ litres (well over a gallon).

Subtract the age at which you started masturbating from you age now to give number of semen producing years & multiply this by 5½ to give you some sort of idea of your personal figure.

Of course, you can always adjust these averages if you feel they don't accurately reflect your own figures, but even so, the results can be quite astounding.

My personal figure comes to almost 200 litres. In terms of volume I imagine that must be approaching the size of my entire bedroom.

I suppose a similar calculation could be applied to the female ejaculation, but on that point I have no idea of the average female ejaculate produced, as not all women seem to produce it - at least, not in quantities noticeably surplus to the natural requirements for lubrication.
