Today is another moneybomb for Republican (but, really, libertarian) presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul. If you don't know much about him, you should check out his website - www.ronpaul2008.com. Although he is perhaps not as socially liberal as some of you would like, I think that his views are very much in line with hippiedom. He is all for each person's right to determine his/her own life - that includes drugs and abortion, although he is personally against it. Also, he is vehemently against the Iraq war and has been FROM THE BEGINNING. Incredibly bright guy, and he really is our ONLY hope for 2008. If you vote for any other candidate, you are voting for "the establishment" so to speak... a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for freedom, a vote for change, and a vote for peace. Despite what many people have said, Ron Paul actually DOES have a chance. As evidenced by today's unbelievable results, there is a tremendous amount of support for Dr. Paul, and now he certainly has the financial means to compete with the best (he has, for instance, way more money than McCain!). Check out his website, and if possible, give some money today. The goal is to get 10,000 people to give $100 each for the single biggest fundraising day in American political history, but if you can only spare $20 or even $5, it's worth it, and you feel good about yourself for giving money to an AMAZING cause... freedom and peace! Love and light to everyone... and vote Ron Paul!
He better win. I wan't this stuff legalized! And he has some pretty good ideas. From what ive heard he was kicking A in the youtube thing. So hopefully he will have a chance.
^ don't follow blindly, know the facts. im more pumped to see his economic approach put into place eliminated IRC, and giving states back their rights.
In the past few months I've done a lot of research on Dr. Paul, and although I admit that at first I was extremely skeptical, I have come to realize that I will never agree 100% with a politician, so I might as well give my vote to someone who deserves it. Paul has some really fascinating ideas about the economy and civil liberties, as well as the end of the Drug War. I would like to keep educating myself about his suggested policies and keep myself informed, and I encourage all of you to do so as well.
I'm pretty sure your parents can... educating yourself about politics can help you help educate your parents about the matter as well
You may not be able to vote, but like it or not, whoever gets elected is going to be your president for the next 4 years. If I were you, I'd get informed. I turn 18 in August, so I'm excited to vote.
