Here and now even, i don't want to be one of those old men who are regretting wasting their youth and cling to the idea of being young. I want to be forever young and i can't believe i am wasting my youth being here.

I'm killing time before going out for yet another job interview... persistance is a pain in the ass.

I quit watching TV, I partake in discussions on here instead of donating my brain to the american media machine.

There is no such thing as a waste of life... by being here (anywhere) you are serving your purpose.

Life is exactly what you make it... there are no prerequisites.

i waste all my time too, for the past few years i haven't done anything remotely interesting. sometimes i worry that when i'm older, i'll kick myself for spending my youth in front or a computer screen or television, or stoned on someones couch. but when i think about it, i know that i have years of hard work and pain and responsibility ahead of me in my adulthood (which is approaching with alarming speed) so i may as well take advantage of my ability to be a lazy bum while i still can.

Well i am in the opposite boat, i spent my teenagehood partying, and now i am an adult i am a lazy ass, which isn't nearly as much fun at my age.

well you're in school, right? as long as you're doing something, you aren't wasting your time. even working at mcdonalds is doing something productive with your time.

Well thats kind of in limbo any way, im not sure if i passed school and i am not sure if i am going to Uni so at the moment i just don't know and i don't have anything to do with my time, the Cafe i was working at is closing down so thats a no go and there is no way i am going to get a job this time of year.

well then you really aren't wasting your life in any way. you went to school, and plan on continuing your education, and you had a job until outside circumstances changed that. you aren't wasting your life at all from what i can tell.

if you think you are wasting your life...then you are.

I go to class, work, and spend evenings cleaning, relaxing, doing homework. Once in a while I go out and spend some time with my friends.

I wouldn't change any of that for the world! I appreciate everything in my life. I'm getting married soon and I have a lot to look forward to.

You have to appreciate your life and everything/everyone in it.

Yeah, but that's how you have to think. What do you have to look forward to in life? Who do you have to look forward to seeing? Life can suck...everyone has bad days and tragic events...but you need to pull through.

I have to disagree, i challenge anyone who asserts that i have to think in any particular fashion.

I hear you Xac. My life between 14-18 was spent tripping on insane amounts of Magic Mushrooms and LSD, banging massive opiates, cocaine, alcohol, partying pretty much every waking moment of my life away. I calmed down tremendously at 18 and fell in love. The girl got pregnant and we had a son right before I turned 20 years old and we were happy :) Then a bunch of insane stuff that "only happens to other people" happened to me, I mean absolutley insane, plenty of jail time, still on parole bla bla bla and we broke up, so now I am a single father, I have my son pretty much all the time and just recently got my own apartment and am trying to put my life in order. I dont know how you are spiritualy but I spend every free moment now in meditation and in reading, trying to make sense of this cosmic dream movie called life. Maybe some day you will be a father as well, it doesnt matter if your a young dad or an old one, Im only 22 and being a father couldnt be any more perfect for me. It's tough at times, especially being alone, but I fell into place and would have it no other way. It puts everything in a positive light for you when you hold a baby that you helped welcome into the universe and everything starts making a lot more sense. I hope it all works out for you Xac, the one thing I can offer in terms of advice is that no matter what your life is, it is meant to be that way and could not have been avoided so your only option of finding motivation and inner bliss is to be content, accepting of your situation and optimistic about your future :) Acceptance is the key to life, when you have that, it is the only thing that no one has the power to take away from you. It is yours to make and to destroy and all other means of looking towards external sense gratification will pale in comparison to the bliss and satisfaction you can bring into your own heart.
Good luck my friend and good health

Well sometimes i feel the same, but when i feel like i'm wasting my life i make something radical in my life. I just broke up with my bf and found out how beautiful life is. :) Today it started snowing and i just took a moment and stood in the snow and watch in the sky and it felt wonderful. I love that moments when you forget about everything around you and you just enjoy yourself in the beauty of the world. You can make your life beautiful wherever you are, whatever you are doing if you just become aware of the beauty around you.
    peace
