Whats your fav type of wood?

I'm a big fan of baltic birch, I wasn't at first, but the odd grain really appeals to me now. Oak is a classic, but boring.

MmMmmm baltic birch with a nice walnut stain.... ahhhh... wooood....

Yup logs wrapped in plastic count, so long as they aren't made of plastic... but I suppose that would be pretty rancid to burn...hmm

Yea alot of people love that nice red cherry type style.

I like the grain to be more pronounced.

Knotty Pine, I love the look of it left in the raw rough sawn state. Rustic old barn wood and if there was a place to put it "Morning Wood" lol :D

Amboyna Burl, but Quilted Mahogany is sublime for back and sides of a guitar. As for making things out of wood, I only use salvaged and recycled stuff, but have used Incense Cedar, Tree Tobacco, Coyote brush wood, Eucalyptus, etc

Hmm... I don't know about baltic birch, I'll look next time I'm at Lowe's. I love the smell of cedar. Oak will always have a special place in my heart because my Grandpa made me things out of oak and he is gone now, so they are some of my most cherished possessions.
