How much of a cliched stoner are you?

Thats the point of the thread... too see how many people are like the stereotyped stoner.

I'm a total foodie.

I don't have a car, I bike or walk.
I do listen to Dylan, sometimes Bob Marley

I most definately don't fit the stereotype IMO.
But I'm a strong believer that most stereotypes, like "cliche stoner", are self fulfilling prophecies. Everybody wants to fit in somewhere

My clothes are always clean when I go into public.

I don't really have favorite chips. chocolate or ice cream, since I like them all.

i have listened to bob marley a couple times but dont really care for him also hear bob dylan because my dad listens to him alot on XM but i dont much care for him either.

well there you go im like exact opposite or you supposed cliched stoner. i would say that all of the people i smoke with dont fit any of these attributes at all. also i think that the majority of pot smokers are nothing like this list of garbage you have came up with.

 

It's a freaking cliched stoner list... have you not seen stoner movies? Do the typical cliched stoners not have long hair? Do you not see Marley merchandise in head shops? Do you not realise that dreadlocks and maryjane have a connection? Have you been living under a rock?

It's not a list of garbage.. it's the typical image of a stoner portrayed by the media.

i have watched alot of stoner movies and quite a few dont fit this cliche take harold and kumar for example. some stoners have long hair that doesnt mean the majority does. so what if there are marley merchendise in the head shops do you have to smoke pot to wear a marley shirt? having dreadlocks should have nothing to do with marijuana but this is the one i can see being cliched as a stoner. have you been living under the media?

to me this list is garbage because this is exactly the kind of thing that is giving stoners the bad view. the majority of pot smokers are normal average people that you wouldnt expect to smoke. this cliched stoner view need to come to an end IMO.

 

You're right.

When I was growing up I had many many girlfriends who's parent's smoked, and I didn't even know it until I was old enough to realize!

I was very surprised at how many people smoke that for awhile I was even trying to convince my mom to just give up and let me smoke with her permission. It never did come lol, but she stopped grounding me for it eventually.

I have "perfect" normal parent's, and I say that because that's how they think of themselves. My mom smoked pot when she was a teenager, and she was never a hippy. My dad NEVER did, and NEVER will smoke pot. But the majority of parent's out there have and some still do. If not they have liberal views about it.

I think the OP is just very interested in the marijuana culture. I think England might be a bit different than the US, but I might be wrong.

There are no "stoner rules." Stoners come in many different colors, ages, styles, whatever. It's just that some of them are into a lot of the same music and clothing styles because of the culture. Plus pot and the original hippies go together hand in hand, that most of us today just follow that stereotype because they like it.

You gotta admit that if a musical artist was so popular and synonymous with pot 40 years ago, and still is popular today, than most stoners will keep on liking it.

 

I think what the OP was trying to do is see how much of us actually fit the stereotype. He's not saying all of us are like that. He is just trying to see how much do we fit in with the stereotypical view of a stoner. I personally think is an interesting survey

 

right i didnt mean to intend its a bad post but i just guess that i never really thought of a stoner as this type of a cliche. i think as time goes on and more and more people figure out that marijuana isnt as harmful as they assume it wont be assoiated with this cliche as much. in my life time the whole "hippy" type stoner looking person just wasnt around for me. so because of that im not used to thinking of a stoner like the way the average stereotypical stoner is seen.

i got you. well my favorite crisps are bbq wavy lays or w/etf they are called. or the kettle cooked bbq chips. idk, i cant have a lot of chips at once but if they are in a small bag or i have a plate to place them on i'll eat em..

Most people are really surprissed when they find out that im a stoner. But I think thats in large part because I look like im 12.

Im to lazy to even attempt to list all the criteria and how they fit me.

I dont call myself cliched because

1. I dont have any tye dyed clothing
2. I hate most typical stoner movies
3. My world does not revolve around pot and things related to pot

No offence to anyone that meets any or all of those criteria

 

well:
i'm growing my hair out, so i guess it will be long pretty shortly
i'm probably gonna get dreads if my hair ever gets that long
i have a job washing dishes
i love bob dylan, tho not so much bob marley
all my clothes are in good shape- but they're all no name stuff so i payed like 1/5th if i payed for them at some brand name store like a&e
i would consider myself a hippy over anything, so i guess that fits
as for a car - well i don't even have my license yet
i would love to go to gatherings and festivals, however at age 16 i'm pretty restricted to what i can do (although next year i really want to go to one in either minnesota or bc)
and i don't care so much about what brand of food it is, as long as it's cheap and good. i'm starting to buy stuff from the safeway deli now, cause it fills me up better, and when i don't get that sick stomach feeling i do when i eat bad.

and no i am not stoned right now...just really high off of my cousin's ritalin, but i was baked about 8hours ago.
