I saw it as a kid, and was weirded out by it, LOL! Especially by the big bird-faced bad guys.

I need to watch it again. Back then I was obsessed with another Henson-muppet movie - "Labyrinth"!

    *hugs*

I think its a great film. The original language scenes on the dvd are amazing, as to how deep into it they were while making it.

This movie was awesome! At Discovery Place in downtown Charlotte, long ago they had a display on the lower floor of nothing but The Dark Crystal characters and settings.

I was stunned when I watched this movie. Everything is so amazing. The puppet work, the backrounds, dialogs. I was awed. Amazing movie!! Jim Hensen is a genius!!

Back in the times when VCRs were too expensive to buy for normal people, I went to the movies to see it... 23 times.

    no kidding.

I even saw some of the creatures of The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth in the Deutsches Filmmuseum (German Movie Museum) in Frankfurt in 1988, when there was an exhibition about Jim Henson's movies. One of the Skeksis was displayed in life size... really neat!

Now, in the times of DVDs, I can watch it whenever I like... but there's nothing like the big screen for this movie.

    And, BTW: Fizzgig rules!

    :D
