SETI project finds unexplained signal from 1000 lightyears away...

Could this be the first direct evidence of intelligent life on other planets? Too early to tell, but the analysis is ongoing...

Far Out! Is all I could say after reading that. A Repeating, signal, has always been the key to thier search. I've donated some of MY processor Time to it!

I believe this is NOT NECESSARILY, a true contact, rather, like the article says, "The Best Candidate" for one.

 

Cool. I heard it on the newa earlier today. One of my dreams is to work at SETI, or smth to do with that, an astrobiologist!

i just wish we would make contact with other intelligent, sentient beings. so we could get high with them or go to war with them or i could have sex with their women (picture a human and a twi'lek from star wars and youll get the picture) im sorry i dont have any sciencey thing to contribute, but im an idiot.

 

I doubt this is anything to get worked up about. It could well be a ploy in order to garner media-exposure and therefore more money.

And to be quite honest, I'm quite content not knowing that there is "intelligent" life somewhere else. Knowing how stupid humans are, one can only wonder what they would be like.

 

That's sounds really cool...I just really don't know what it could be...

 

If there are extraterrestrials, it's a shame they are so far away.. if we sent a message back to them they probably wouldn't get it for another thousand years or so
