I second it as the best children's live action movie. I have to exclude animated movies though, cause then bambi and Pinnochio would be fighting over that title in my eyes.:)

I did. It was okay. Good enough to watch all the way through.

This was my favourite film as a kid. For a time when I was around three, I'd watch it at least 3 times a week. This was before I'd learned to read, hah.

well the last time i said this i was reminded that it's an american treasure and all.other things thatMADE ME FEEL BAD.i'm at a safe distance.i was never all that into it.i thought the beginning when they're on the farm in kansas was pretty darn good.after the twister comes throgh i think it should have stayed black in white.i get the part of it as a traslation from grim every day life that that family had into a fantasy land..but still it could have been in black and white film.small point maybe.i liked the artisic settings though.also the story was written in 1900.and all the architecture in oz is from the 1930's.maybe i shouldn't have read the book first.oh okay i liked it.
