its really awesome that you do that. i couldn't, personally. this is going to sound really hateful but i dont really like being around mentally challenged kids. i've had lots of bad experiences involving my moms students...they've stalked me and groped me, among other things. i just don't like them. i guess i'm kind of a bitch, in that regard.
Well done Fitzy. I honestly believe that the best way to change the world is through our youth. And inmyunderwear, I disagree that it's enough not to contribute to the problem. I think we need to be more active in actually doing something.
i'll note that i only work spec ed kids 1 week for the summer...the rest of the summer i work with inner city kids
it isn't the world, its human short sightedness, sometimes refered to as greed or aggressiveness, although i think that's a kind of denyal by externalization, that ends up people screwing everything up for each other. and all it takes to stop it, is for all of us to stop doing it. there's no big mystery about it, other then the complexity of some of the mechanisms involved, and the popularity of using things like belief and idiology as excuses and ways of denying others. =^^= .../\...
How we change the world... its as simple as taking an interest in politics. You just have to decide to care about what happens to THIS country. WE can change THIS country... and once THIS imperialistic advance on the world has stopped, we can work toward peace for all of the world... together. You set a goal and do not stop until it is achieved... with no regard to who has/can/will/won't join you. *Anything* you do to achieve your goal will serve to get the gears of revolution turning. If your causes are worthy, people will join. If they don't, try harder!
precisely! and precisely all it would take, extending that same concept into other contexts. we don't HAVE to do anything else FOR the world, then to simply STOP SCREWING IT OURSELVES UP! it's also sometimes called the golden rule. the origeonal one. of course there's nothing wrong with feeding each other and the rest of it. each of us at some time may need a little help. but nearly all of us would need a lot less a lot less often, if a lot more of us were contributing less to what creates the conditions that result in our needing it. =^^= .../\...
i raise my child following my instincts and so far he has turned out to be a beautiful soul who is sure to make this world a better place...i also cloth diaper him and have breastfed him since birth which has a huge impact on both the earth and him.... i try to treat everyone with kindness and respect.... i conserve water by not taking a shower every single day.... i help to conserve energy by not using all the senseless (and non environmentally friendly) notions that come with shaving....i haven't shaved my legs or pits in well over two years now.... i rarely ever buy new clothes, i do A LOT of thrift store shopping and help to recycle threads.... there are lots of little things i do that i don't think i have the time to list....
Your sig reminds me of the Rene Magritte paintings. I saw this one a couple weeks ago at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC: The Lovers
I get to play an elf on the polar express train this season. I bought a few gifts for kids on our "angel tree" and help out at the local school here at the canyon. I sent 2 flocks of baby chicks to some village in Asia from http:www.heifer.com sorry that's all I can think of for now
indeed. It was a photograph inspired directly by the two lovers painting. ive been meaning to hit up that museum though.
Is it just me, or is it about time posts like these stop going in one... uh... eye and out the other (lol..). Thats it, it really is just that simple... its not even a matter of the media "feeding", or school, or anything... its entirely introspective. It hurts my head that someone thinks they can "fix" nature... the florida wetlands come to mind. Swamp for those politically correct. Humanity came in and change the face of florida... nature doesn't just sit there and get raped, nature is a force we have not come near controlling... we can't fathom what may happen to such areas (I can, all underwater - water is the earth's comet (brand) cleaner). Best part is that while one swamp is preserved, there are hundreds of thousands of square miles of concrete laden earth... the land in any decent size city has likely been decimated... who "fixes" that? Its not a matter of making mistakes... its a matter of recognizing and never making those mistakes again. Thats how we evolve as a human race, stop making the *same* mistakes. New ones are so much more fun That being said, unless given absolutely no choice I will no longer be shaving... why would I?? Why would anyone??? A trim to keep things from gettin outta hand, sure, but not a full blown irritation fest thats contribiting to pollution anyway...
