Who has gone barefoot in the snow?

I for one enjoy this. After awhile feet become numb so it doesn't matter anyway. Just be careful about hypothermia, don't want that. Anyway it is exciting and really wakes you up on those days when it is hard to get your eyes opened.

I did when I lived back in Ohio, however it was only for a minute or so, rather uncomfortable. I don't have much tolerance for cold.

I always go for a little walk when it snows, but only for a few minutes. The faster i go, the longer i last...

Yes, I have many occasions to do it. But, as I've posted here before, during severely cold weather the danger of frostbite is too high. Can't be stressed enough. For me, it's at the beginning and end of winter, especially the end, when the sun is strong and the old snow still lays.

I'm not sure everyone here knows about severe cold, but some do.

I've seen this site before, and others like it. And while I definitely do enjoy it[IMG] very much, I'm really not sure most of these young women are doing more than modeling. It takes a very special physical situation to last very long under those conditions, even in the milder scenes with wet (melted snow) pavements. Yes, it can be done, but so much else has to be just right---

Remember I'm from NC. So our winters are not as severe as Maine. I have been to Maine and NH during the week of Easter and saw snow there when back home in NC we are going shirtless. But still I enjoy going barefoot in the snow. Even if it is for short times, I always do it at least once when we have snow.
    Peace and Love!!!

Excellent! It's always worth a try. When it's not too cold, and if I'm walking, (not just hanging around,) I can go quite awhile. The time you were up our way, with old snow laying around from weeks before, and the sun is getting stronger; that's the best time for me. Otherwise, the smaller snows in fall---but it's shadowy and dark then. Old snow in spring is best.

In the coldest part of winter it's really a no-go, except for those quick runs to the truck for a forgotten item, or to fetch one armload of wood. Too dangerous to attempt much more than this.

Hell Yeah! Barefooting on Snow, Nails & Burning Coal. Also levitating for a few seconds when it becomes unbearable. This is my kind of activities. Whoo!

In other words, it works when I'm physically active. The colder, the more active. Drop below a certain level of temp/activity, and it gets painful. Or even dangerous. Thing is not to let it happen. Can't let it happen. Most of the time I work too far away from help if anything should go wrong.

Today I decided to try it. It just snow a good 2 or 3 inches in Kansas City today. Yeah I know 2-3 sint much but its good for KC. Anyway so I opened the garage door and walked around in there for a few minutes to get the temp of my feet down. Then I went outside and walked for about 15 seconds. Came back intot he garage for about one minute, then went back out an walked for 30 seconds. Went back in the garage for about 15 seconds grabbed the snow shovel. Then I went back out and cleared the sidewalk, driveway, and sidepaths along the house, alot of snow and beneath it was frozen concrete from the sleet before the rain. It took me an hour and at the end my feet were completely numb, came back in the house and couldnt feel a thing for 10 minutes. Right now 2 hours later there are still not back to 100%. It was fun though, just proves you dont absolutely need shoes for anything.

That's awesome man! It's cool to know that frostbite wasn't a problem for you. Have you gone out again, now that it snowed again?

I really haven't gone barefoot in the snow...just been outside bf to smoke. I've been out for about 10-15 minutes, and my toes were numb, but not much else.

I'd love to barefoot in the snow but we so rarely get any, I'll probably be using a walker by that time. :p
