Is anyone watching it? It's making me cry it's so sad. Those kids must be so brave It makes me realise how lucky I am
It's on channel 4 now. It's following this boy who's dad's an alcoholic and a girl who's mum suffers from depression. It's showing how the kids cope with it and it's really sad
it's sad...but you kind of subconciously see it as normal...im not sure if any of you have been in what most people would see as a tough situation, but after a while you almost see it as normal, especialy if you're a kid and haven't known different. i do wish they had used a more soft title for it though though i confess, between caity, roly, borut, moony and sarah, i've been too happy on here
Just out of interest Sal, why has this been moved? It's not really that random seeing as I'm actually talking about mental illness. Which I consider to be quite a serious issue. Are you just annoyed with me cos I didn't like your poem?
Im a psychiatric nurse and unfortunately the situation is all too common. The health service and social services are at crisis point and people don't get the care they need sometimes.
Why is it only my posts that get moved though? There's loads of random ones in the main forum but they just get left
We've had this argument before I feel. I'll let this thread stay though. And no, I'm not angry with you, I'm just keeping quality control. This thread has potential to be deeper, but in general threads on TV programmes I tend to move without thinking about it....
No, I'm not excercising any muscle, and I'm not going to be leaving the forums when I go to uni, I should have the internet in my room. If I seem short at any point forgive me, it's because I've said this quite a few times before, and I've not had a cigarette in five days. Largely you can post what you like. But as per the forum guidelines, it should be on topic. There are sub forums here for certain topics which are less suited to the main forum. Generally threads which don't have as much substance, or a very wide appeal, or are just completely random and for fun, are better placed in UK Randomness. Debates, engaging/interesting/deep threads, community building/fun threads, events etc are the mainstay of the main UK forum. This isn't me being a fascist, or being overly beauraucratic. It's because whenever the main forum gets filled up with threads which aren't particularly interesting or deep, then people start complaining and saying that the forums aren't what they used to be. Neither am I censoring anything, nothing's been deleted, just moved to UK Randomness. I even leave a link on the main forum. It makes sense at the end of the day....
Also, I'm not saying all TV programmes are random, I just remember the days when there were about three threads on Ballamory! People have to use their own discretion, and so do I. It's not an inflexible system....
Yeh but you are random when you feel like it... see fleassy's thread about her dad... pooballs and the like ... and deleting posts that havent infringed on the forums guidelines too
I haven't deleted any posts that haven't infringed on the guidelines as far as I can remember. Like I said, it's not an inflexible system, and there is a place for randomness and fun here to, there just needs to be a balance. When things get unbalanced the forum starts to slip and people complain....
With that in mind, would you consider moving Kelso Wars back to the Randomness forum? I didn't want to make a fuss originally, but now the subject's come up, I put it in there because I thought it'd scroll down too fast in the main forum...as it has done...in fact, I haven't updated it in days...I keep forgetting since it's off the page by the time I get home from work...I'll do that now...update it I mean, not get back home from work...
PS. Next time anyone wants to pick an argument with me, could you please find a time when I'm not trying to quit smoking. Sorry if I seem in a bad mood, or if I'm taking it out on anyone. This always happens. But I'm determined to kick this habit once and for all....
