it may be that i'm jaded from living here in phoenix, but i was browsing apartments and real estate in buffalo- and everything seems INCREDIBLY inexpensive, like one bedrooms for $500 or less a month, houses for cheap, etc. why is that? ordinarily it would be great but i don't know much about new york and i'm curious as to whether or not it's caused by external factors (i.e., there is an enormous mosquito problem or somesuch that makes living there undesirable.) just curious!
winter. distance from cultural hot spots. pay scale. look at all the factors. crime stats for a given neighborhood (and is the apartment really in a slum?)
hmm i suppose i didn't take that into account. i was looking at buffalo specifically FOR the winters and i work from home so... then again...
some real nice areas outside of buffalo,, west seneca, seneca, buncha others but im just relaying,,dilligaf lived about 70 miles from buffalo. but buffalo its self is a shit hole.. if you just want winter and cheap rent,,check out erie...
Not true. I live on the west side and i love it. its very multicultural and full of refugees from all over the world. AND there's beautiful little murals all over the place if you know where to look. Where was the apartment located? Elmwood village is pretty nice, and in the summer you'll find hippies all over it. especially in the grass in bidwell park or over at delaware park. also, there's some really nice apartments in north buffalo near University of Buffalo.
i like dunkirk too! I don't believe it's the place, I think it's the attitude you take to it that determines whether or not you enjoy it there.
